don't purchase unless you have apple music account
We had an alexa prior to purchasing this. So easy. Just tell it what you want to listen to, radio station, ect... but the mini wants to immediately connect to apple music. You can use this mini with your iphone but you have to operate the mini through your iphone to access you spotify, iheart radio, ect. We have a SONOS so we can do the same thing with this. Was looking for simple. This is very hands on vs. just asking it to find info, radio station, a song, a recipe....the weather....

great sound , easy to use. once i got it that this is a home pod, not an ipod, it was easy. i wanted it play my apple itunes catalog, i set up with download. then, selected a song from playlist and it instantly started the playlist when i clicked the airplay symbol on the song. wonderful, huge , deep and clear sound i hear all over average size condo. in fact i have to turn it down. amazing. it has a complete suri home whatever set up but i am not much interested in asking suri the weather or room temp etc.

The sound quality on this is like a clowder of bats screeching in the night. You should be afraid, very afraid of just how awful it sounds. I mean, even an Alexa Echo does a better job and I hate Jeff Bezos. If you want an Apple Smart Home Device, spend the extra dolla dolla bills, y’all, and get the full size Home Pod. You will only find heartache and pain if you buy the Mini. And no one wants that.

So confusing.
Let me start by saying, we are Apple people. We have iPhones, Apple TV's, iPads, MacBooks, etc. This HomePod mini went back immediately. I couldn't figure out how to control it with my phone. There's no app, no adjusting the settings, nothing. I originally bought it with the hope of using it as a sound machine at night, and having the bonus of a speaker for any use. Definitely was not ideal for it.

HomePod, Homerun!
Love my Apple HomePod Mini so much that I ended up buying another one for the bedroom. I now have one in both my kitchen and bedroom. The sound from my Home Pod rivals any “one trick pony” sound bar that I’ve previously had that would only play music, and I love that I can easily transfer listening from one room to another or have multiple rooms playing at the same time if I’m going back and forth. In addition to being a Bluetooth speaker for music/podcasts etc., having Siri in my bedroom (for alarms, reminders or simply “what’s the weather” when I’m getting dressed), and in the kitchen (for hands-free timers, recipe questions, etc. when cooking) has been super handy. I’ve ended up using this feature way more than I thought I would. The sleek, small profile and color options also makes it an easy addition to any room. Save with Target Circle! Once again I recommend buying from Target. Since items like this usually have prices tightly controlled by the manufacturer, they pretty much cost the same wherever you purchase them, but with Target Circle 5% Off Everyday, Target is usually cheaper. That and Target has the convenience of picking-up in-store or curbside as well as their generous extended return policy for Red Card holders. If a HomePod is on your list, it’s time for a Target run!

Junk
Junk! Would not after two hours, connect to my phone. Contact led apple who stated it was a known issue and they’re working on it. Meanwhile, I looked on app’s official support for him and it’s been going on for months so clearly they don’t have any idea or a clue of when it’s going to be resolved so I would not buy one of these.
