Q: I just got the machine and used it twice in one day (like 3-4 minutes each use) and there is an overwhelming burning smell: why would this happen? I cannot see any obvious issue.

Q: I purchased this vacuum in May of 2024 and the brush is no longer spinning. I don’t see any hair or anything tangled within the bristles that would prevent it from spinning but it won’t work all of a sudden. Please advise!

Picks up sooo much dust and dirt compared to other vacuums! My Dyson broke so I got this as a backup before getting a new Dyson and holly molly! This is a beast, I’m never going back to Dyson again. I do agree with others saying the belt burned and broke after couple of months, but you can get a replacement for couple of bucks and it’s very easy to change. Little price to pay for such a great vacuum!

I bought the Bissell CleanView in late October. I vacuum roughly onces a week and keep the bristles clean. The bristles have started shuddering. It looks like there is a problem with the roller which is also impacting the belt. I'm disappointed that in less than a year I will need to find a way to replace parts to keep it running as it should.

The vacuum worked great for 4 months, then the top handle popped off when the pin holding it in place broke during normal use. Cheap plastic parts breaking too quickly.

I’m giving it a 1 star for the short time it did work and I like how the cord wraps up. Vacuum will work great for a small room and then stop. I check hoses and filters and clean them out and nothing. The filter should not have to be changed after using it for a small time. I would NOT recommend. Don’t waste your money. I don’t use it much as a broom is more efficient but have had less than a year. I am literally chunking it out the front door and going to buy a SHARK!!!

Belt broke the week after purchasing. Bissell did replace the Belt . However the Belt assembly gets clogged up with hair and stops the brush which then over heats the vacuum. I've owned several bissells and never had any issues

It broke within 4 months and with only weekly use. Even with the highest height adjustment it would still smell like it was burning when I used it on flat rugs. It worked well on our wood floors but the wand attachment isn’t very powerful. The multi use tool just fills with dust because the suction isn’t very powerful. So disappointed! I really looked at multiple brands and thought this was a good investment. I was wrong.

This vacuum will either melt the brush to the base like welded on there so you can't get it off or it will burn your carpet if you use the attachments there's no way to shut the brush off so it just spins and spins real fast and this on nose this is a problem and they won't do anything about it they gave me a $20 discount on a vacuum when I called customer service for the 5th time and talked to the 7th person and then it didn't even go through I'm not even going to call back now I don't even want to deal with them but just to let you know the brush does not stop spinning on this vacuum there's no way to shut it off so if you're using the wand attachment and you're not even by your vacuum because it has such a long reach it's just spinning away burning a hole in your carpet they have one that does have a brush that off but it's three times the price so I just replaced the vacuum from Bissell that melted the brush to the thing to get this one who does the same thing that I might have to buy another vacuum next year when it does it again

It worked really well to begin with, but the belt broke within 30 days. It’s definitely not useful for vacuuming up pet hair. If you don’t have multiple pets, it would probably be good. We bought it because it was advertised as being useful for pet owners.

Barely used this to vacuum my small downstairs living area was fine as there was not alot of hair. Went upstairs to use it and noticed the brush stopped spinning.. took it apart to find the belt broken after literally, one use. Haven’t even emptied it so it hasn’t even picked up enough hair to break in my opinion. Yes we have pets. Hence why I got a pet vacuum. Wasn’t originally going to get this one but grabbed this one instead of a cheaper one and husband said go ahead and get this one. Looks like it has more bells and whistles…. Returning it asap. Wouldn’t recommend.

Stopped working after 6 months - specifically over carpet. Nothing was stuck in the hose, cracked or anything like that. The roller stopped rolling over even low pile carpet and was hard to push forward. It worked great the 1st 6 months though.

Don't buy if you have a pet.. unless you like having to constantly take the bottom of the vacuum apart to clean out the pet hair or continuously replace the rubber pulley. Thought it was something "oh I can deal with" nope, not anymore, such a horrible product. Was using today and it started smoking and now smells like burnt rubber. Bissell should be ashamed they sell this as a pet specific vacuum.
Buyer beware if you actually have pets. Or hair. Or lint.

As others have pointed out in several of the non-promotional reviews, this vacuum is designed so that hair/lint/fur/dirt gets trapped around and under the belt housing. Once it fills up, after just a few uses if you have a big fluffy dog like we do, the belt will seize and fill the room with the ungodly odor of burning hair. Then you know it's time to take the bottom panel off again and clean it deep down inside. I'm talking so far back in there that you will need pliers to get most (never all) of it out, bit by bit. Sure, the suction and other features are great, and I love that the tank is easy to wash, but I never would have bought this if I knew how severe the design issue is and how much time I would spend keeping it from burning up. Just don't even bother with this one.
