Q: Does anyone else's milk spill out? It seems like I'm the only one. How does everyone keep their milk from spilling over? Thanks!

submitted by A Girl - 6 years ago
  • A: I have found that DHA milk foamer more than regular milk. If you're using DHA milk, try a quart of regular not-dha and see if that fixes you. And clearly, stay below the max fill line, as I'm sure you are. Hope this helps!

submitted byMelFromMemphis - 5 years ago
  • A: I know it depends on the type of milk used, how full you fill it, and if you use the whisk attachment or not. I have had another milk frother spill over due to using the wire whisk and filling it up to the max line (meant for without wire whisk).

Q: Does it foam alternative milks well?

submitted by LizFiz123 - 6 years ago
  • A: I managed to use silk milk's almond milk vanilla flavor, fine in it.

submitted byHowdy - 5 years ago
  • A: You can use coffee creamers like Coffee Mate as well as milk, 1/2 & 1/2, heavy cream, whatever you like. I have used all of the above and they all turn out well.

    submitted byHmallory34 - 4 years ago

Q: How much liquid does this hold?

submitted by targetshopper - 6 years ago
  • A: Min: 75ml Max Froth line: 190ml Max heating line: 300 ml

submitted byHowdy - 5 years ago
  • A: About 0.8 cups if you're frothing.

submitted byMelFromMemphis - 5 years ago

Q: Can I use half 'n half in the milk frother. I like the richer taste of half 'n half. Thanks.

submitted by Marg - 6 years ago
  • A: I have not tried it with half 'n half. I prefer nonfat milk because it foams up more. However, I see no reason why it wouldn't work with half 'n half. I tried almond milk. It worked fine, but it did not make as much foam.

submitted byrungram - 6 years ago
  • A: You can use half and half, and it's delicious!

Q: what temperature does it heat to?

submitted by Pandora - 2 months ago
  • A: The frother heats the milk for about one minute until it is approximately 158 degrees Fahrenheit.

Q: Unfortunately, the milk only gets a little bit warm (the temperature only gets up at 110 degrees Fahrenheit) I'm wondering if mines broken or if it's just false advertising.

Q: The milk does not get to 150 degrees Fahrenheit!! It only gets to about 110 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't know if there's something wrong with mine, but how to I make it get hotter?

Q: what's the minimum amount of milk?

submitted by Jean - 1 year ago
  • A: The minimum capacity is 2.5 ounces. There is a minimum indicator on the inside of the device labeled "MIN" for convenience. Once the milk meets this line it is ready to froth!

Don’t waste your money unless all you want is something to heat your milk to perfect hot chocolate temperature. NO FROTH!

We're sorry to hear your experience with our Electric Milk Frother has been less than satisfactory. The whisk attachment is designed to begin spinning once the milk starts heating, provided it's securely attached to the spindle at the bottom of the frother and the milk levels are within the MIN and MAX lines. If the problem persists, please contact our customer service team at support@bodum.com. Providing further details will help us assist you better and investigate the problem. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Bodum frother: good but not great

3 out of 5 stars
Scarlett Martin - 3 months ago
I've had a few frothers like this one. The first ones were great with 2 screens the plunger, making thick foam. The newer desgn with 1 screen still works well but not as good. Be careful with glass carafe, hand wash only to keep it looking good.

This machine makes a few bubbles. That's it. I tried half and half, 2% milk, whole milk--nothing. No froth, no whipped texture, just a bunch of liquidy bubbles. Waste of money!

If I was Bodum I would simply make a milk frother that worked, but unfortunately this isn’t the case. I took my chance on this despite the reviews, and what do ya know, it happened to me - the frother stopped working shortly after purchase. Lesson learned.

It’s affordable and easy to use! It works great with non dairy too! I’ve used the Nespresso frother in the past and it’s just as good! If not better! The picture is after I mixed the milk and espresso BUT LOOK AT HOW MUCH FROTH IS LEFT OVER

Subpar, slight frothing. No handle means the milk leaks out when you pour out the froth. Burns unless you remove it from the heating element—do not put it back on there until the element is completely cooled.

Cute and simple to use. But the assembly is unreliable. I got mine out of the box and the device would not turn on until I took the power base apart and adjusted the copper contacts. After that it worked like a charm. Ideally it should have worked out of the box without any adjustments. This was the second issue I had with this brand of frothers--the other handheld electric frother also didn't turn on. Seems to be a trend with this brand.

It worked well when it worked. I used it 3-5 times a week, cleaned it after every use and cared for it as directed. After 6 months it stopped working. I reached out to bodum since it was under the year warranty and I have yet to hear back from them. Fairly disappointed with the product.

I decided to get this after using my sister’s higher end one. I was hesitant because of the reviews, but gave in and bought it. So far it works great; like any electrical appliance do not submerge in water or it will mess up. What I do is just use a little soap with a bottle brush to clean inside then rinse it using the sink water sprayer. I feel like it froths the milk really well.

Super Frother

3 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
Sukelai - 7 months ago, Verified purchaser
I bought this frother to go with my new Nespresso Vurtuo machine. (which I love). This this frother make a super thick, huge foam in about sixty seconds or less. The problem is that the foam is usually too thick to blend into the coffee. So basically the coffee tastes like air. You also have to remember to turn off the frother after it stops, otherwise it will keep reheating the froth making a tough mess to clean up. It's convenient and affordable but its not the very best frother, because the foam interfers with the flavor of the coffee instead of enhancing it.
