Q: People want to know there is at least 10% N-Ha as that is what we’re being told is the least amount that is effective. Not telling us makes me believe you have a much lesser amount. Or be transparent so we know that what we are buying is worth it.
submitted by Marlo - 11 months ago
A: Hi there, thank you for reaching out. The assertion that 10% nano-hydroxyapatite is required to be effective is incorrect and not based on current science. The studies asserting this percentage are often over 10 years old and used a particle size approximately 10x the size of the nano-hydroxyapatite in Boka. Smaller crystals, like those in Boka, have been studied to be effective at much lower levels than 10%. While Boka does not share the exact percent of n-ha in our toothpaste, we proudly use one of the most effective, and well studied forms of n-Ha available and is one of the few forms of n-ha studied for safety and approved for sale in Europe

Q: What percent Nanohydroxyapatite
submitted by Kornylak - 1 year ago
A: Hi there, thank you for reaching out.
We don’t disclose the exact percentage of n-Ha in our formulation for proprietary reasons because we have spent significant time and resources to develop an optimal formula. We can proudly share that Boka toothpastes feature one of the best sources of nanohydroxyapatite that is commercially available, and this form of n-ha has been thoroughly evaluated by the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) as one of the few forms of n-ha permitted to be sold in Europe. Additionally, we carefully selected the n-ha used in Boka products for its superior performance and demonstrated effectiveness in clinical studies.

Q: I saw someone gave a low review and said it was because this brand had heavy metals. Can you please let us know if this is correct.

Best toothpaste!!!
We'v'e been using this for about 5 years or more. I would never go back now. My teeth used to be so sensitive, that I had to pretty much keep my mouth closed in the winter when walking my dog. My teeth used to break. I used to get cavities. Not anymore. My teeth are stronger, white naturally, and I have no broken a tooth for years. Best stuff on the market!!!

Will never go back to any other toothpaste
I absolutely love boka. We have been using it for a very long time and I used to be very prone to cavities. No matter how often I brushed I would always get them. I would hate going to the dentist because of how I felt about my teeth and after I started using boka I haven’t had a cavity. People complement my teeth all the time too!

Awesome toothpaste without fluoride
My dental hygienist recommended this toothpaste, along with David’s hydroxyapatite dental floss. I’ve been using this brand for over a year now, and I’ve noticed a significant difference in my oral hygiene. I particularly appreciate that it doesn’t contain fluoride, which is a concern for me. My kids also love it!

Fresh Breath Without the Harsh Chemicals
My kids have been using this brand for a little over a year now. While in target I decided to give it a try. The peppermint taste isn't too strong or overpowering which I like. It's just enough to freshen up your breath. It has a smooth texture and it's super effective.

Dentist approved as a great flouride free alternative TP.
I absolutely love this toothpaste. It doesn’t leave my mouth with a weird aftertaste all day like most toothpastes do. However, if you are prone to cavities a fluoride free toothpaste isn’t a good idea. I’m a dental professional and sometimes will rotate fluoride toothpastes and boka. Or at least get my fluoride applications done every 6months. I’m not prone to cavities but it’s good practice along with gentle brushing of teeth/gums twice a day and flossing nightly ♥️.

Great fluoride-free toothpaste!
I really like this toothpaste! It has a fresh mint taste and leaves my mouth feeling clean without being too strong. I love that it’s fluoride-free and contains nano hydroxyapatite. It’s gentle on sensitive teeth and works well for daily use. The texture is smooth, and it doesn’t foam too much, which I prefer. Definitely would buy again!

Works Well
I’ve really enjoyed using Boka toothpaste so far. The texture is smooth, it foams just enough without being overwhelming, and the flavors are a nice change from the typical overly strong mint. My mouth feels clean after brushing, and it feels like a gentler formula compared to some traditional toothpastes. I also appreciate the ingredient approach. I know there’s a lot of talk online about “toxic vs non-toxic” products, and while I’ve seen discussions about trace heavy metals being present in many toothpastes (including Boka) at very low, regulated levels, it didn’t feel like something that impacted my experience using it day-to-day. Overall, it still feels like a thoughtfully made product. One downside for me is the price. At around $9–$13 a tube depending on where you buy it, it’s definitely more expensive than basic options that cost just a couple of dollars. Because of that, it doesn’t feel like the most budget-friendly choice for everyday use. It doesn’t leave my teeth feeling stripped or sensitive, which I really like. That said, I’m currently trying out a few different toothpastes just to compare what works best for me long-term. I’d definitely consider repurchasing Boka depending on how those stack up, because overall I’ve had a really positive experience with it.

Not for me...high levels of heavy metals
I really wanted to like this toothpaste, but I just found out that this brand has high levels of heavy metals, including LEAD. LOTS OF natural brands do!! UGH. Also, they are vauge about the amount of hydroxyapatite in the formula. Honestly, I think this is too controversial to use for me and my family. I asked for a refund. Simple is better for us! From what I can gather by talking with my dentist, is it's important that I rest my mouth between meals, and let saliva remineralize teeth, naturally. Eat healthy & cut back on the sugars and simple carbs, and acidy foods/drinks. Brush morning and night. Rinse with water after meals... and floss. Harsh ingredients in toothpaste kill the good and bad bacteria. Just like an antibiotic will do to the gut. Everyone is different, but our body is so capable if we treat it right (in my humble opinion!) Balance...
