Description

Enjoy your time outdoors while worrying less about being the ultimate target for wasps and mosquitoes because the Bug Bite Thing Insect Bite + Sting Suction Tool is here to save the day! This nifty little tool uses suction to extract the irritants from insect bites and stings, including those from pesky wasps, mosquitoes and ants. No more relying on messy ointments or sprays to alleviate itching and swelling, Bug Bite Thing is your superhero without a cape.

But how does it work? Well, when an insect bites or stings you, it injects its saliva into your skin which can cause itching and irritation. Bug Bite Thing uses suction to remove the irritants from mosquito bites or a wasp sting, which can alleviate the symptoms of itching and swelling. Don't let pesky insects ruin your outdoor fun.

Q: Can it be used on chigger bites?

submitted by Kp - 5 months ago
  • A: While we do not have testing on this specific bite, we can tell you we have had many customers reach out and report successful results using Bug Bite Thing on chigger bites.

Q: hi. what is the difference between the blue and white versions of the tool? i see they are different prices. thanks

submitted by Ali - 5 months ago
  • A: They are the exact same thing. They are also now the same price.

Q: Does using this leave a mark like a bruise or circle for a long period of time after?

submitted by Soph S - 6 months ago
  • A: You have complete control over the amount of suction used. If marks/bruises are being left, too much suction/duration was used on that particular bite. Some areas have thinner skin, so they require less suction (how high you pull up on the handles) and duration (how long you hold in place). On more sensitive areas or if using on children, try using the tool at half strength or less for 5-10 seconds to start. You can always increase the strength/duration or repeat the process to achieve desired results. Less is more until you are familiar with the tool.

Q: How long after being bitten is this effective? Particularly wondering about mosquito bites.

submitted by Liz in Pgh - 1 year ago
  • A: The sooner you get to the bite the better the performance of the product. The longer the mosquito saliva stays under your skin the more the body will react. If it takes a couple of hours to get to the bite, you will still get relief from the itching, but the swelling will take longer to go down since your body is already reacting

Q: can this be shared among family members or do you need separate tools for each person?

submitted by veronica - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes, Bug Bite Thing can be shared with multiple users. However, we recommend cleaning the detachable cap after each use.

Q: can it be used with snake venom? and how quicly will it react to the venom?

submitted by Sheryl - 2 years ago
  • A: Unfortunately, that would be a HARD NO. Bug Bite Thing is for surface bites ONLY. Snake venom enters your blood stream. If this happens, please seek medical attention.

Made the bite worse! The bite became more swollen and spread. Ended up in the ER with severe cellulitis needing IV antibiotics. Be careful!! It’s safer to leave the bite alone and apply creams.

I wasn’t sure how or if this tool would work. Unfortunately, I am a mosquito magnet. I finally purchased one and took it with me when I ventured outside. It didn’t take long before I got bit. I noticed that if I used this immediately, there would be no swelling or itching. If not used right away, it shortens the swelling and itching time. I tried it on my 4 year old nephew as well because his skin reacts horribly to bug bites. Amazingly, his skin did not get the red oversized irritation he would always get at all! I recommended this to his mom as well and am looking to buy more so I can carry one in my purse and one on the backyard porch.

I was skeptical but it WORKS. It’s not immediate and it’s not 100% but it definitely reduces the swelling and itch of mosquito bites considerably. It’s enough that I forget about them and they go away within a day because I’m not itching and reaggravating them. Works on my kids too.

I was skeptical about this at first but was desperate because I'm VERY allergic to mosquito bites. It's so easy to use and when I say it really does provide relief, it REALLY does. I used it more than once only because of how swollen my bites get. The swelling went down so much faster than they normally would have if I hadn't used it.

It doesn't work. It suctions to you, but the bites are still there and still just as itchy. At first I thought maybe it had just been too much time between, or it didn't work on sand fly saliva, but then I tried on a fresh mosquitto bite and had no effect.

it doesn’t work, all it does is suck up your skin but it doesn’t relive the itch nor does it take out the venom like it says it does. it just leaves you with a big red circle and that’s it. don’t waste your money or let social media trick you into buying this like it did to me.

I'm shocked at how well this worked. I got bitten by a bunch of mosquitos yesterday, tried this method, and took a shower. After that, none of them itched anymore. (Not sure if the shower did anything to help, but maybe). You can even see the bumps flatten after using it. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I feel it works best if the bug bite is recent, not one that is still itchy but halfway dried. after about 2-3 rounds im no longer itchy, its honestly sooo clutch! i had gotten bit on my walk & suctioned it as soon as i got back home & within a few hours the bite was completely flat, it was practically gone!!

It did not help. It made the bite more swollen and itchy. The swelling lasts for days and the itchiness is worse than if I just used a cream.

Relief with Hydrocortisone and Bug Bite Thing

BPG - 8 months ago
Several bug bites- probably a spider. I put hydrocortisone cream on. Then used this device on about 7 bites. There's a little irritation, but wow, it's so much better than if I didn't use the device! Buying more for family members.

It sounds like a gimmick, but actually works. The suction makes the itching stop immediately. I found you have to re-suction bites maybe 1-3 times over around 24 hours. Only downside is that if you bruise easily from bug bites already, this will make the bruises you’d already get a little more noticeable. Totally worth it to skip the itching, though!

I gave this 3 stars, for now, because it didn’t work well on my daughter (4.5 year old). I tried on my skin first and I was able to pull it all the way back on my forearm with no suction ring or pain. Then I did it to my daughter pulled it back halfway as it said too which was about when she said “that’s enough”. It left rings everywhere so I did it a little less, still left rings to the point ai had to pick her up early from school because they thought she was now contagious. She then proceeded to itch non stop on all of her bites (which later that day at urgent care found she was allergic too). So for this case specifically, this did nothing for the itchy relief.

You have to understand that this will not fix bug bites immediatly. However, it speeds up the process and provides a solution you didnt previously have! Since getting it, my husband and I have used it on a bee sting, wasp sting, and on several mosquito bites. Its our new best friend for when we have bug bites. You won’t really see the venom and saliva be pulled out everytime unless you have a nasty bug bite. For instance my wasp sting has really shown the beauty of this product with all the gunk it has sucks out. Keep in mind you dont need to pull the suction to the top every time. Repeat the suction process a few times at least. We pair this with product other at home remedy treatments and have seen a huge difference. We have already gotten ourmoneys worth in the first month & the great thing is that this doesnt have an expiration date so will last us way longer. I believe its well worth the cost.
