A: Please do not use essential oils. I learned the hard way and now I have to buy a new humidifier!

A: No. This humidifier even though very good is very difficult to clean. As another user has stated, you might be able to clean it with vinegar but it might get unusable eventually.
submitted byNick - 5 years agoA: No. I have used vinegar and crushed ice and shaken it and that has seemed to mostly clean the inside. Then I try to get anything leftover by using a long bottle cleaning bristle brush with a microfiber/sponge head.

A: It does not really have a night light. But does light up when it's on, it's very dim though

Q: I am a little confuse because in the description it states that the humidifier is filter free but if you look at the product itself there is a section to change out the filter. Please clarify! Thanks

A: If you don't use a filter you need to use distilled water so the mineral deposits don't mess up the machine. It's easier to just buy the filter.

A: The standard crane filter...same as the ones for the animal shaped humidifiers. Definitely use a filter if you're not using distilled water, much easier than stocking up on a ton of that water if you use regularly. You don't wan't to use tap water without a filter or you can damage the humidifier.

A: Yes, it has an automatic shutoff function no need to worry about the motor running once out of water. No, you cannot add any additives into the tank since the plastic is antimicrobial.

A: Add 2 Tablespoons of vinegar to the tank and 2 cups of water then give it a shake. Put the tank back on the base and let it sit for 30 mins. Once that is completed empty the base and tank and wipe down.

I don't normally write reviews, but I rely on a humidifier during the cooler months and I gripe about this thing every single night. The biggest problem is the mold. There's no filter and it produces so much mold and has so many nooks and crannies that it's impossibly to clean thoroughly. I originally got this for our nursery, but there's no way I would put this near a baby who would be breathing in that moldy air. Then there's also the bright night light that you can't turn off and it would wake my son up when I turned it on. Then, even when I turn it to one of the lowest settings, I need to refill it every other night because it goes through all of the water so quickly. Overall, not a fan and don't recommend!

Winter has been very hard on my house plants this year. So I finally got around to buying a humidifier for my plants. I wish I would of gotten it soon because my plants are now thriving! This humidifier doesn't hold much water, barely puts out any mist even on the highest setting, and didn't make any difference in the air in our bedroom. If I had known how poorly it works I wouldn't have paid $5 for it, let alone $50.

I was surprised by all of the negative reviews. This humidifier has worked super well for me since purchasing it a couple of weeks ago. I run it every night for about 10 hours. I empty it, dry it off, and leave it out to dry during the day as instructed, and haven’t had any issues with build up or mold. I also use hard water, without a filter, against their suggestion and haven’t had any issues with build up / scum from that either. Overall has been a great purchase and has provided some much needed moisture to the air in this super dry winter. My nose, throat, and skin are grateful for this purchase!
