[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee maker was defective, and I returned it. On day 3, the lid that secures the pod into the main housing would not close properly, leaving a small gap between the top and bottom edges of the closure. Upon close inspection, I was unable to ascertain the reason for this. Nothing seemed out of order. A few days later, however, the unit began to leak water around the pod while the coffee was dripping into the cup. Fortunately, the retailer accepted the return. Despite mixed reviews for this coffee maker, I purchased it anyway, as I have a number of Cuisinart products that I have been happy with, and trusted the brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only have a cup of coffee in the morning and the lid on the filter cup broke off after 3 days. I think the filter cup is too small because the grinded coffee beans overflow to the tray. It does make a good tasting cup of coffee.

I have been grinding my coffee beans for over 25 years using a separate grinder and then brewing it through a drip coffee maker. I decided to get more modern and try this all-in-one coffee maker. The coffee maker is easy to use, not messy as some reviews mentioned. Enjoy the little things in life and start your day out with fresh ground beans and a perfect cup of coffee.

Yes! Grind and Brew Single-Serve Coffee Maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I shopped around before making this purchase. Some of the reviews on this worried me, but I can honestly say that I made an excellent choice on this purchase. I would certainly recommend this coffee maker! My husband drinks decaf. I drink mine caffeinated. Sometimes, I even like a mixture. With this single serve coffee maker, we are able to have our coffees the way we want. It brews quickly! It is a bit noisy obviously when grinding the beans, but mmm so fresh! My boys are usually sleeping at the time I have my coffee. So, having it ground in advance is helpful. I used the grinder when my boys were sleeping, and it didn't wake them, but its still super fresh when I grind in advance, so I just do that. I grind once weekly into a bowl because it can be a little messy also. Even after you are finished grinding, some ground pieces will fall out when the machine is used. So, I grind into a bowl enough for a few days or a week and then wash the grinder. By mess, it's just a little ground coffee. It's not a big deal by any means. I absolutely LOVE this coffee maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Cuisinart coffee makers for years. I think this is my favorite. Three in one grinds the coffee or use kcups or ready 2 brew. Takes less counter space instead of coffee makers than a grinder. Makes great coffee, easy to use. Thank you Cuisinart.

I am really enjoying the convenience and versatility of my new Grind and Brew Single Serve Cofeemaker. I can use ground beans, whole beans or K-Cups. With the water reservoir I don't have to add water for each brew. I can choose from three sizes, 8, 10, or 12 ozs. Brew time is less than 5 mins., and brew is super hot.

Good quick cup with freshly ground beans

For what it is, this does a great job. If you're a coffee connoisseur who wants to change grind size, temperature, and timing for a cup of coffee, this machine isn't for you. For those who want a quick cup of coffee where the machine does the basics for you and have fresh whole beans... this will do a fine job and grind them appropriately for the pod style of brewer without using pods. Honestly the brewer does a good job, and for most people, a K-pod type coffee is good, but this takes it to a better level by using freshly ground coffee. Use freshly roasted coffee takes it to a higher level still. Granted using grounds means there is some clean up compared to a prefilled pod that you simply toss, but it's minimal. If you want a full cup of coffee (10-12 oz) you can turn on the grinder and it will stop when the resuable filter basket is full. If you want less coffee, you'll have to press the grind button a second time to stop it before the self timer is done. Practice a bit and you can get it pretty much set for your tastes.

Grinder issues

I mistakenly purchased this one cup coffee maker instead of one that is able to make a pot if required. That said we are pleased with this product other than one very large issue. I only drink a small cup of coffee, and my husband prefers the large cup. When I grind the beans for my small cup, I get the same amount dispensed as he does for his much larger cup. Is there a way to change this? I tried pushing the small cup button before grinding, but it had no effect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I'm happy with this product and the quality of coffee it puts out daily. I did have trouble getting through the instructions after opening the box. For that I'm taking away a star - as I felt frustrated with initially trying to get this product to work for me. Now I use it daily as it freshly grinds beans for me and makes me a delightful cup of coffee at my preferred size every morning. I have not yet used a commercially purchased coffee pod yet, but perhaps will in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Enjoying very much. Gave 4 star because grinder grinds too much coffee. When coffee expands starts to block holes on the top of coffee screen filter. Wish could specify grinding bean amount. Plus filter basket not easy to clean.

Hopefully the replacements last. I love the option of grinding fresh or using a pod. BTW all of my Kuerigs failed. They wouldn’t replace under warranty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A very nicely designed machine with a small counter footprint. We replaced our Kcup machine with this Cuisinart grind and brew because we wanted to stop sending used Kcups to the landfill. This machine makes a great cup of coffee that is very hot, properly dark, and when we're truly in a hurry, we will still accept Kcups. Everything works as it should. The charcoal filter does a great job of cleaning up any impurities in the water. The machine is fast and relatively quiet (grinding coffee is not a silent process). The only improvements I might suggest would be to have a metal cup for the ground coffee because the plastic lid on the one that came with the unit is ready to break off after only three weeks. If not for that little quirk, I would've given this great little machine five stars.
