CLOYING NEW SCENT - No more Dawn at my house!
New scent — TOO MUCH! As others have said, the new Dawn scent is overpowering. I can smell it in the next room. I don’t understand why it was changed. I can’t buy Dawn anymore for this reason. It gives me a headache.

Disappointed loyal Customer
I bought this product and the Platinum product -Dawn dishwashing liquid 10/1/2025 Dawn dishwashing liquid has gone from washing ducks laden with oil from ship accidents to their once powerful, soapy product barely able to clean the spicy noodle sauce bowls my granddaughter favors so much. What a disappointment! Especially when Dawn boasts about varying strength of their products but they all feel, look, and clean like when my daughter waters it down as it gets lower to extend the life of the bottle; it's obviously thin and unable to do the same job it once did. I don't know how or why your winning formula changed, be it greed of corporations highering prices but lowering the quality or well, that’s probably it. Unfortunately, Dawn is dead for me. But, if you like watered down, ineffective dish washing liquid then Dawn is the one for you!

Bottle opened and leaking!
I picked item up by drive thru. When I got home there was a puddle of soap in my car, bottle was leaking! Wasted half the bottle!

Gentle and effective
The best soap on the market. Dawn dish soap is so much more than a dishwashing liquid. This soap can be used for dishes, laundry, cleaning, pets, etc. The product is gentle on people and pets, yet powerful to remove stains. As someone with sensitive skin, I have never had an issue with Dawn. I use this product for dishes and tough laundry stains without any reactions. The scent is also fresh and clean, ensuring no reaction to fragrances occur. It makes me happy to know this product is safe to use. Dawn is available in a variety of sizes. We personally enjoy the little bottle to have out and accessible. When we run low, we simply refill it with one of the large refillable bottles. It’s great to know that we aren’t constantly needing to buy new bottles. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone.

Strong Perfume Smell
This formula changed and the smell is SO strong that I cannot use it. Not only does it smell so strong of perfume that you can barely breathe using it, but everything you wash will smell and taste like perfume for days. It’s a shame because dawn works the best but I have no choice but to switch.

Since you said that you're barely able to breathe while using your Dawn, we recommend discontinuing use. To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out. Additionally, you can rewash your hands with mild hand soap to remove the scent. Awful fragrance and no warning about it
I bought this under the assumption it was original Dawn. Nowhere on the bottle does it say clean scent (or if it does, it must be obscure). The scent is AWFUL. I buy minimally scented cleaning products because fragrance and perfumes irritate my sinuses and make my nauseous. This scent made me sick to my stomach and I had to air my whole house out. Will never buy again.

New formula smells, leaves residue you can taste
New scent is terrible. Also new scent of Apple Blossom is terrible. I should have known by the darker color. I actually had been buying Apple Blossom for many years. I am fragrance sensitive and much preferred the old scent which was mild. The new scent can also leave a residue on dishes that you can taste.

To get any scent off of your dishes, we recommend you soak the dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it (or) run them through the dishwasher (assuming the dishes are dishwasher safe). If you choose to wash the dishes in the dishwasher, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher along with some vinegar directly into the dispenser. You can also put a cup of vinegar upright on the top rack of the dishwasher so that it gets knocked over and distributed during the wash. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out. Dawn for outside uses
Dawn isn’t just for dishes—I’ve used it outside for all kinds of cleaning. It works great on patio furniture, grills, and even garden tools. Just mix a little with water and it cuts through dirt and grease like nothing else. It’s also handy for washing cars or bikes. Super gentle, but still gets rid of grime.
