The toy was very hard to build with tiny clear screws that were hard to use and even see. Even with adult help. My son was frustrated, so was my husband. It ended up not even working properly. And my husband is very good at building and following directions. We love the concept but this toy was poorly designed. Would not recommend.

Got this for my nephew and it was hard for him to follow so you need an adult. It jams a little bit and the lights didn’t work either.

Cool idea! Down fall got wrong part and lights didn't work but over all I got to explain to my son as we built just wished I could have showed him it running

My 11 yr old Grandson assembled it all by himself and it took him about 2.5 hours. Overall the instructions were very clear and the set is mostly easy to put together. However the screws were a bit tight and hard to turn. It came out great and I’m very proud of him. Ages 8+ is a little too low without adult help. Yes it’s noisy when running and there is no on/off switch.
Great toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you have a child that loves STEM based projects/toys then this model engine kit will make an amazing gift for them. I really like this cool and creative concept of dIY replica of four cycle internal combustion gasoline car engine for kids. Its a good hands on activity and will help kids in getting an idea of how the four cycle internal combustion gasoline car engine works. That being said, it will not be easy for young children to do this project by themselves because of all the parts involved. I have to help my child in setting it up. Everything is included in the kit. The finished project is good for teaching kids about how the car engine works. Its an innovative STEM based toy.
Thumbs up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 8 year old worked on this kit all by herself about an hour a day for 5 days. She really enjoyed doing it and thought that the end result was very cool. The instructions were good as she was able to do it herself without any help from either parent. Definitely a great kit to get little minds going!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great thing for little boys and even girls to learn how to put a engine together you never know when you will need to know how I wish I would have seen this when my kids were little but my son enjoyed it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little engine has been so fun to put together. It has EVERY piece that a real engine has. From timing belts to spark plugs. It has fan clutches and even gaskets for the oil pan. After built is works. This is wonderful for anybody that wants to learn to build actual engines. My husband and children now want to be mechanics.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is 6 so this is a little too much for him, but my 9 year old daughter thinks it's pretty cool. My husband is super handy and good with cars and taking things apart, so this is a great way for him to teach our kids about his interests. I've even learned a bunch too. Highly recommended.
Good learning toy. Will need parents help probably

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My sons enjoyed this kit. The box said 8 and up but there was a few steps my husband had to step in and help with (and also pull out a different screw driver than what was included). Some of the screws are very very small and can be tricky for the kids. Besides that, it was a cool toy and my kids liked seeing the inner workings of and engine. I was quite surprised at how much my 6 year old learned while helping put this together and he has been explaining pistons and compression and all sorts of things to anyone that will listen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whether you homeschool or just need a project to work on over the summer, this is really a wonderful way for kids to learn how things work. My boys have really enjoyed spending a few minutes each night with father putting this engine together. They haven’t finished it yet, but they’re close and they only work on it here and there. They’re already talking about the next project, so I’ll have to see what else is available from this company. What an excellent hands on learning resource!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 7 year old is obsessed with cars so this is a great and fun activity we did that gave him a better idea how an egine works and also a great subsititution vs building another block set. If your kid is 7-9, they will likely need help from a parent, which to me is a highlight and fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a neat activity that addresses science, engineering, reading, problem solving. I especially like this for kids who are very interested in what dad is doing. My son and his dad worked on this and it was very fulfilling to them to complete it. Teaches kids to work step by step and accomplish a goal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Putting together this real life model engine from scratch was such a fun, immersive and enjoyable experience. The build does require adult assistance; I recommend assembling the engine with a parent and kid team for best results. There are a lot of small parts, along with intricate positioning. The result is incredible to look at; I set the completed engine on the shelf in my son’s room where he can look at it all the time, while knowing he built it! When the motor starts, the whole projects comes together and we watched in awe as the motor spun and whirled. I highly recommend this engine STEM project; my son has become enthralled with building engines as a result of this model kit. As a parent, this was a new experience for me, and I really enjoyed going from many small pieces to one big finished piece; I’d definitely say this engine model kit is fun for the whole family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Discovery Mindblown - Toy Kids Model Engine was really fun to build for my son and he said it looks cool. It took him about a half hour to an hour to build it, he is 11 years old. There were however some mismatched or missing notches so it you attach things properly. The light up spark plugs looked cool and he liked playing with it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter and I who is a car mechanic addict love this kits! It's help my daughter to understand name of several car parts. We do need to buy more glue for this kits but it's not a problem. It takes several days to finished it cause we only can work it on the night. It's really a cool thing to do especially for father and son/daughter. I really recommend this engine model kits for gift and holiday activities!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market looking for something to occupy my son's time over these Summer months, he recently expressed interests in cars and I figured this would be a great project for him to work on. This is awesome as a great bonding experience between the both of us. There are a lot of parts and it can be overwhelming when the box is opened, but I would recommend keeping all of the parts and tools organized before beginning. The step by step instructions are easy to understand. We dedicated about an hour of work a night for a month or so to complete it and the end result was great. My son is 6 and so I took the lead when handling a lot of the steps, but I'm sure older kids could figure it out on their own with focus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very fun and educational kit that helped my son (and myself!) to better understand how an engine works. The instructions are fairly straightforward, and took my 12 year old and I about 2.5 hours to complete. The overall quality could have been a bit better- I found that the plastic was a bit thin, and some of the screws were difficult to tighten. There is also no on/off switch, and you need to put in and take out the connectors yourself. Additionally, it’s pretty loud when turned on. Though overall, we learned a lot from this project and were happy with the way it turned out when fully assembled.
