Q: When used to soak up grease during cooking, can this cloth be cleaned BECAUSE we have been taught that grease should not go down the drain. So we use paper towels to soak and toss. What say you?

A: If that's all you use paper towels for, you shouldn't be concerned about excessive waste for that. Continue to do that if you want to avoid grease in your kitchen or laundry pipes or pay to have pipes augered regularly. These are basically swedish dishcloths, but not made in Sweden. I recommend goggle "swedish dishcloths" for use and tips about cleaning.

Be Careful What You Put It Next To in the Dishwasher
I cannot recommend these towels. The product instructions actually advised putting them in the dishwasher to wash, but when you do that, please make sure it is not surrounded by any dishes it can stick to and ruin. The towel changes it's structure when wet, and it's mushy residue got stuck to my cup during a wash cycle and completely ruined the cup’s color grading.

I keep these in various areas for quick clean-up, and they have been great for that. They do dry to be rock hard, but they soften right up again when used. My favorite place I have found to used these by is my fish tanks. When I am doing water changes, it can get a little wet. These just soak the water right up.

This was my first time trying Swedish dish cloths and I must say I am really well pleased. I love that they can be sanitized in the dishwasher and reused many times. I planned to just use them with dishes but have also found them very useful for cleaning the kitchen as well. I do wish there was an option with different colored cloths because I like to keep them separate for different purposes, but this was a great and affordable intro set and I look forward to continuing to use Swedish dish cloths moving forward.

It hasn’t even been three weeks since I bought these and this is what the last one looks like. It just came out of the dishwasher (per instructions). It has disintegrated, leaving pieces in my dishwasher filter. They were great for the first use, though.

So many uses for these!
I love these and how affordable they are and can be used many many times! I use them as napkins primarily because they can be dampened and then used to very efficiently clean sticky fingers while eating. Requires less wiping than a traditional dry napkin, plus it's reusable and easy to clean! I like that they aren't dyed or printed, feels like it's a less harmful production process than other companies that put all sorts of designs on them. Would be nice to have larger sizes as well. They do soak up a lot of water too, so much better than paper towels for cleaning up spills!

Target replaced the Sweedish ones for these. These are smaller, stiff, and very thin. They will probably disintegrate if used with hot water or acidic cleaning liquids.

Great alternative to paper towels for clean up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first time I’ve saw and used a reusable plant based cloth was when I visited Germany several years ago. I was so surprised to see them at Target so I had to try them again. These clothes are surprisingly super absorbent and strong. I washed a bunch of dishes and pots and pans and these clothes hold up. They come dry but when wet, plump up and do a great job cleaning anything, you don’t need to just use for dishes. These are a great alternative to paper towels for cleaning because they can be washed and reused. I washed and reused one several times already. Funny enough, these clothes are made in Germany but packaged in the USA! I received an incentive to write this review.
