Q: why would i need this/why should i buy this?

submitted by areasonablequestion - 5 years ago
  • A: Honestly it comes down to quality. This is an expensive item but the build quality and finish are exceptional. Especially the finish they used on the mug. The finish is like metal silk, so smooth.

submitted byShan - 2 years ago
  • A: Buy it if you want to keep your coffee or tea warm. Better then drinking cold or room temp coffee

submitted byBeachbaby - 5 years ago
  • A: To keep your coffee warm and at that exact perfect temperature. Some people care about it more than others. Definitely a little excessively priced but a really thoughtful gift for the coffee or tea lover with distracting kids not allowing them to finish their coffee quickly.

submitted byBobbys Mother - 4 years ago

Q: Does the white Ember Mug show coffee/tea stains (like most white ceramic cups)?

submitted by Manoamama - 4 years ago
  • A: Yes there is slight staining that I have been unable to remove

submitted byCorcomm - 4 years ago
  • A: YES. Mine has a dark coffee stain on the bottom of the mug that won't come off. The coffee stain along the sides comes off if I put a little bleach in the water and leave it for a minute.

submitted byKatiesMIL - 1 year ago

Q: Thniking about this as a Father's Day gift. Can I set it up/program from my smart phone for use in another person's house?

submitted by Debbie - 11 months ago
  • A: Because the Mug pairs to a device via Bluetooth connection, any Ember App user will need to be near the Mug in order to use the App's features. However, the mug always defaults to 135.

submitted byBrand Expert - 9 months ago

Q: If you finish your drink, will it keep heating and burn?

submitted by Momof4 in NJ - 1 year ago
  • A: Ember Mug2 has an auto sleep function which intelligently wakes up when hot liquid is poured in and enters sleep mode when not in use. It is smart so it will shut off when no liquid is detected.

submitted byBrand Expert - 1 year ago

Q: What are the dimensions of the mug without the handle?

submitted by vnis - 1 year ago
  • A: The rim has 3.3 inches (83.2 mm) diameter. The mug has 4.2 inches (106.7 mm) height and 4.3 inches (109.2 mm) width including the mug handle.

submitted byBrand Expert - 1 year ago

Q: What voltage does the US charging doc operate at? Could I buy in the US and also use it abroad, such as in the UK?

submitted by vnis - 1 year ago
  • A: The US coaster needs to be compliant to 110-220AC. The US charger can also work abroad with the use of a compliant (within region) adapter.

submitted byBrand Expert - 1 year ago

Q: can we use this inUK?

submitted by SR - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello, this product is current available for sale in UK region. The UK/EU version of this product comes with interchangeable adapters that convert the power adapter to fit into international select power outlets.

Q: can the mug be used in microwave?

submitted by Dimple - 2 years ago
  • A: Do not microwave the Ember Mug! The Ember Mug is an electronic device, which should never go in a microwave. I bought this like 2 months ago. The Charging pin got stuck and it stopped charging. Absolutely zero customer support present. They don't respond to any email or messages you send them. Visit their reddit threads and you will see how their mugs stop working in a few months and they don't respond to any email or phone. Stay far away.

Ember won’t honor their one year warranty

My ember mug stopped working after eight months after very light use. I tried using a second charger and it still would not charge my cup. I reached out to Ember support multiple times but they have yet to reply to me. I cannot in good conscience ever recommend a company that will not honor their one year warranty or even care to reply to their customers email.

    Engineering and Quality Control Lacking

Bought my first mug four years ago, it lasted two years before the enamel on the bottom started flaking off. (It was always hand washed and never saw a single metal utensil of any kind.) Got a replacement two years ago, and now it's doing the same thing... so the mugs seem to have a two-year expected life. That's better than the charging coasters, though... they only last about a year before the pins lose their spring and stop working entirely. (I've had four of those now.) Given the cost of these things, I think it's reasonable to expect a longer life.

    Ember mug finally feedback

I’ve had mine for 4 years so far n I thought I’d give a little feedback. Ybest cup I’ve ever bought n is still as it was when it came out the box, the battery is exactly the same capacity as it was to start with, theres loads of different options im the app it’s too for various different drinks but I just use mine for coffee n it keeps it at my desired temperature, I can fall asleep n wake up n hour later n it’s still the same temperature what more can you ask for, what an invention Downsides are the cost for the mug itself is just outrageous for a cup but it’s worth it personally and the battery built inside it is eased quite high inside the mug so your not quite getting a mugs worth of coffee that you see, you probably loose a third in battery too apart from those 2 little things that I can livr with are the downside unfortunately, I hope that doesn’t deter you because as I said, 4 years later n it’s still like brand new and gets plenty of action too 👌🤫😉

Charging saucer only lasts like 4 months

Charging saucer only lasts like 4 months, I went through 2 of them now. I only hand washed the mug and did my best to thoroughly dry it before putting it on the charging saucer, but any amount of condensation by the metal nodules will eventually cause one of them to get stuck and stop making contact. Not worth the effort to try and dig it out, tough to take apart. Disappointed, I did use the mug a lot and when it worked, it worked pretty well.

I was given this mug for Christmas. I have a love hate relationship with it. On one hand it is a fantastic piece of kit. On the other hand I can't clean it. I am a tea drinker and the stain it leaves on the mug is diabolical. I have tried everything, but to no avail. Suggestion: buy a dark coloured mug if you are a tea drinker.

I acquired mine as a Xmas gift from my daughter and I cant be without it. My only complaint is that easily discolours on the inside and doesn't keep its original colour. Which in my case is a white cup. So I don't know if this is the same with the other colour choices??

Coaster Design Flaw and No Support

The mug works fine but the battery loses charge quickly and the CHARGING COASTERS BREAK. More specifically, the interior charging pin becomes recessed after a few months of use and it becomes IMPOSSIBLE TO CHARGE THE MUG. I have had two coaster break in the exact same way so it is a design flaw. Regardless of how good a review I would leave for the mug, the fact that it eventually can't be charged, makes the system completely useless. Perhaps worst of all, they have not responded to my online support requests and they have no phone support.

Good afternoon. This coffee cup is very innovative and very well thought out. It has the terrible result of failing to load and also fails to connect. My wife has an iPhone, and I have a Samsung. It was useless. It's incredibly frustrating to get overpriced for a simple cup, and worse still, I haven't used it for more than 20 coffees and less than a year after receiving it.
