I've had the Fenix 8 for nearly a month now. I've had it over three weeks now and haven't charged it since the day I got it, when I initially charged it. I came over from an Apple Ultra Watch, and I'm very glad I made the switch. From weather to tracking workouts, to sleep and pulse O2, this thing is great. The only thing so far I'd like to see change is a longer charging cable with a 90-degree end at the watch would be better, but since it doesn't have to be charged very frequently, I can live with that.
I have not figured out all the features.

I have not worn watching years. My father bought me a Seiko when I graduated high school. Holy smokes did I ever buy a nice watch? It looks good on your wrist. I swim now and I can tie my laps. I also resell boats and has a whole module for sailboat racing. It is awesome. I treated myself to it for my 60th birthday.

Purchased the Fenix 8, 51mm AMOLED sapphire, just over a month ago and I’m very pleased with the watch. I owned a Fenix 7 Solar previously and it was a solid watch with great features and quality. Made the move to the 8 for the AMOLED feature knowing the brightness of the watch face would be a big plus. The feel of the button press is different from the Fenix 7 but not in a bad or odd way. I have been an Apple Ultra 2 owner and wearer but no more. The features, AMOLED face and battery life of the Fenix 8 have converted me to become a Garmin daily wearer.

I upgraded to the Fenix 8 51mm from the Epix Pro II (51mm). For me the upgrade was worthwhile. I like the way the new buttons function. I also like the updated interface, which takes very little time to get used to. I also really like the mini-speaker. All of these features have me really enjoying the watch. I have owned every Fenix variant since the Fenix 3 and think the jump from Epix to Fenix was the most significant.

I purchase this as an upgrade to an older Garmin. The display, maps and speed to acquire a GPS fix are amazing. I also love the LED flashlight, Mic and Speaker of the watch. The battery life is also very good considering all the built in features.

I bought this watch a month ago because I needed something I could use at work and dive with with part of NSW this watch has met all my needs. I previously owned Apple Watches and they don’t compare to my Garmin fenix 8!

I had a Fenix 5S for a while and loved it. Unfortunately it would no longer charge. The folks at Garmin took care of me and got me into the Fenix 8 I now have. I love the new features and really love the new screen. With such upgrades, I wish, my only gripe and issue, something would be done about how the watch is charged, dump the cable and do the magnetic charging, cables go bad. The charging method is the only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5. I look forward to make more years of wearing a Garmin.

I'm a longtime user of the Fenix 3, which lasted me almost 10 years and is still working perfectly to this day. I only upgrade for something a little more modern looking, but the changes in functionality and usability are amazing. The most impressive feature is easily the battery life - using it to track around 8 hours of workouts per week, the batter still lasts almost a month on a single charge.

Switched from AWU2 looking for a bigger screen and MAINLY better battery life. Garmin came through big time! I’ve owned Fenix8 51mm for 3 weeks now. Wear it everyday, charged it once a couple of weeks ago. AMAZING battery life!! Amoled screen is easy to read and I’m still learning different watch faces and applications. It’s taking me some time to learn commands and navigation coming from the ultra, but I have zero regrets with switching. Even though it’s 51mm it fits my 19cm wrist very comfortably. The titanium is perfect, I don’t even feel like I’m wearing a watch. With AWU2 I felt it, didn’t like it. I’m loving the ECG feature the most. It seems accurate and it’s very easy to use. Loving the Body Battery too! This timepiece is truly worthy of the price. And here’s the best thing: it’s a real watch, it’s not an IPhone on your wrist. Loving Garmin. Thank you.

Have use this watch for a month 24/7 and find it to be exactly what was advertised. My previous watches was fenix 5x, and Mrk 2i diving watch. I loved the fenix 5x so thought the Fenix 8 with new upgrades would be great and it has meant those expectations. We will see how this watch continues to perform as I continue to use it everyday.
Great product, loved and enjoyed by all my militar

Upgraded from Epix Gen 2 Pro. Noticed a big downgrade in terms of all the buttons on the watch, it's not as responsive any more. Separately, despite being a 1000 dollar watch, the UI is often lagging and unresponsive on this watch. It's very disappointing. I would recommend skipping this generation and wait for the next iteration.

Thank you for taking the time to sharing your review with us! The ambient light sensor found on some Garmin watches works to provide the user with the right amount of brightness in order to view the screen depending on lighting conditions. This allows the display brightness to automatically adjust, which can conserve battery usage and prolong time between charges. You can manually change the brightness level setting on your watch by holding the middle left button and selecting Watch Settings > Display & Brightness > Brightness or Backlight. That said, we are always working to expand on the quality and performance of our products, and valuable feedback like yours is vital in our product development success. I encourage you to use our Ideas Portal to submit any feature requests or improvement suggestions directly to our team of innovators for future consideration: Garmin.com/Ideas. (KS)
