Best Overall Fitness watch/tracker
It counts laps in the pool for me during training. In fact , it’s able to track multiple functions at one time. So, if you’re looking for a watch that can do pretty much everything. This is your last stop….

Mostly good
The watch does well overall, but I’ve had a couple of issues. I’ve had issues where it stops mid-swim without pushing buttons (so I was put on the beta software as a work-around). And, I get a random alert every 12 minutes that will not go away on my run mode…really nice when doing a marathon (at the end of an Ironman …plus during all the training sessions?!) to have a random alert that reminds me every 12 minutes that there is no fix for this phantom alert at this time)?!

With regard to the random alert during your runs, it may be best for you to reach out directly to Garmin Support so we can take a closer look at what's going on. HR monitor innaccurate
This is my fourth Garmin Forerunner. I miss my 945! The 965 has a very inaccurate HR monitor. I've tried every position on my wrist and all the tricks on chats, still does not work. Garmin sent me a refurbished replacement, same issue. Manually checking HR while wearing confirms it's way off. I miss the 945, far more accurate.

Everything you need and more
This watch has everything you need as a runner. Coupled with a heart rate monitor, you get more metrics than you will ever understand. I use it mostly for running. I also use it for swimming and biking. It is very accurate with the gps. I would say this is more of an expert level watch but beginners can use it as well. It monitors sleep, body battery, training levels and loads, as well as a plethora of info that I haven’t tapped into.

This thing lives on me now. I love how light it is. It doesn’t heat up. The battery last forever. Data is very useful. As a permanent appendage on my wrist, I do have a few gripes. 1. it isn’t nearly as intuitive as my apple watch. 2. It often stays in previous areas for a day or two after leaving (weather/timezones). 3. It doesn’t have the feature that wakes you up based on sleeping patterns.

Cracked Screen Within a Week and A Half.
I had brought this in 8/27/25. On 9/9/25, I saw the Screen had cracked. I don’t know how but I didn’t buy any warranty because I thought the glorilla glass going to be durable. I only this a few running sessions and a couple of gym sessions. I had the Apple Series 7 for several years and it held up right good. I would of though garmin would be more durable since I got the 965

After 3 645Ms
After 3:00 6:45 M's all broke. Where the watch band meets the actual watch I decided to leave Garmin. I went to Cora's and it was horrible so I came back and treated myself to the 965 and it's a world of difference. Everything you'd expect from stats contactless payment, music, beautiful display, and a fairly decent battery. I'm very happy with it. Oddly, I have two other friends who have the exact same watch
