Q: Does this watch have a small band as well as a large band?

A: Yes, however, Black is the only one that comes in large, the other colors are small/medium.

It's pretty good
Two things I don't love. The watch face doesn't have color you can select, and I have to charge it every 2 days. Both things make me miss my vivofit watch. I also cant send a thumbs up to my messages I get over my watch I've had with previous Garmin watches. I like the size Its made well The watch band is better than vivifit It has a lot of options like auto detect of activities.

Not a good as a FitBit
I bought this because I did not want to be a part of the google data collection system by buying a new FitBit to replace my old one. The Vivosmart is harder to operate, confusing, and very hard to see in daylight. Looking for it's replacement. The Connect app is great!

So, so…..
Got this watch intending to track swim workouts and maybe wt sessions. It is interesting that it sometimes knows what wt exercises you’re doing but it’s about 30% accurate. For instance if you do bent rows with free weights or on a wt machine it thinks you’re doing pushups. As for swim workouts it doesn’t track laps accurately. It lumps multiple laps as just one long lap, especially if you’re swimming a consistent pace. Overall pretty disappointing.

That watch uses motion patterns to automatically detect activities and repetitions, so exercises with similar wrist movements (like rows and push-ups) can sometimes be misidentified. For swimming, tracking accuracy can depend on pool length settings and your stroke consistency. The best part was the screen turning on when I raised my arm to my face. That's stopped working already. Only had it a few weeks.

Great entry-level watch for activity tracking.
I bought my Garmin for my generally day-to-day routines. It needs to be charged up about once a week. Hopefully, it can be given a magsafe to make charging easier.

Accurate Calorie Counts
Detects my ride on my Life Fitness Elliptical Crosstrainer and counts steps and is extremely accurate when counting calories. Today's count on the elliptical's meter was 800 while the VivoSmart 5 counted 802. Last ride was 801 and 798. I'm amazed. And while the elliptical doesn't count steps, the 9000+ for my 80 minutes seems reasonable. Enjoy the heart rate monitor too, which also seems reasonable.

Not Perfect
I had to replace my old one and did not give it a second thought. Getting it to talk to my iPhone has been a huge issue. The form you use only has numbers, so I have no idea how to add a"B" to it, and there are no directions I could find telling me how.

We bought the Garmin vívosmart® 5 (White, Small/Medium), and honestly, I’m not a huge fan. The battery life is disappointing and doesn’t last nearly as long as expected. It tracks fine, but for the price, I wish we’d gone with the next model up in the Garmin line.
