Q: Am I the only one that has a terrible time cleaning the baking pan? It seems like it is very porous and things just settle deep into the pan and aren't on the surface to clean off. Very strange, I've never had a pan like this.

submitted by Dp - 6 years ago
  • A: This is an untrue statement by Gourmia. I had the same issues & it does not clean well at all! I would not recommend this product for that reason. The inside also is very difficult to clean. I did complain the coating was coming off my brand new baking pan and they did send me a complimentary one after I showed my receipt. However the new one became hard to clean again. And yes, it’s definitely not non-stick.

submitted byDnice - 5 years ago
  • A: Same. Requires too much cleaning.

submitted byBizkits n graavy mmm hmm - 3 years ago
  • A: I used it once to make pork chops. The drippings from the chop are permanently stuck to the baking pan. I don't think this should happen on the first use. I tried soaking, baking soda and vinegar, baking soda and peroxide. I soaked it overnight and scrubbed like crazy and I finally put it in the dishwasher. Nothing would touch it. I would have lined with foil but the manual says not to use foil. Finally I emailed the company we will see what happens. I am truly dissapointed. The pan should be non stick. I would be emarrased to return it but I cant keep it in this condition.

submitted byEJoSoFTL - 5 years ago
  • A: I've experienced the same issue. I'm looking for a replacement drip pan due to the gunk that won't come off. If you are buying this, make sure you cover the drip pan in foil before first use.

  • A: Need to buy a silicone mat for these air fryer ovens, pulse I put baking parchment paper on top of that. It’s keeps the trays clean so I don’t have to scrub and scrub

  • A: Probably a good idea to line the pan with aluminum foil. It helps a lot.

Q: How many quarts would this be? My daughter has a 4qt basket air fryer want to get her something bigger

submitted by April - 5 years ago
  • A: Specifications for this product indicate "200 ounces" a non-standard way of saying "6.25 QUARTS" 23.9 quarts is ERRONEOUS.

submitted byNonya Beezwax - 3 years ago
  • A: 23.9 quarts

submitted byGourmia - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: 200 ounces = 12.5 pounds. That's a measure of weight. Quarts are a measure of capacity. Unless it's filled with feathers, it's probably bigger than 4 quarts (1 gallon).

submitted byFrances - 2 years ago

Q: Do we need to unplug the oven to turn it off?

submitted by Sue - 4 years ago
  • A: just bought mine and plugged it in for the first time. As long as the display os on, there will be noise. Wait 10 minutes, display is off and noise is gone. Debating whether to keep it or not.

submitted byolt - 4 years ago
  • A: FYI, if the power goes out and then comes back on the display will come on but the oven doesn't start heating on its own. If nothing is done the display will turn off by itself.

submitted by joe - 5 years ago
  • A: It is aluminum

  • A: Purchased the GTF7900 in April of 2025. A magnet is attracted to every part of the oven, all the trays and rack. If any parts are stainless steel they are ferritic stainless steel.

    submitted byFixer48 - 1 year ago
  • A: According to Gourmia's answer to a previous question "The Fry basket and Oven are stainless. The baking pan and crumb tray are aluminum". However, a magnet sticks to every piece of metal inside and outside of the oven that I bought in January 2022 and to all trays included. A magnet may stick to some types of stainless steel but, to my knowledge, not to aluminum. Therefore it seems that all trays included with the GGTF7900 are steel of some sort. Time will tell if they rust.

submitted byBW - 4 years ago

Q: One of the Q&A answers mentions that the air fryer basket is stainless steel while another states that all the accessories are made of aluminum. Which is it? Is the fry basket, oven rack, baking pan and crumb tray made of stainless steel or aluminum?

submitted by PK - 5 years ago
  • A: I suspect some of the things that are said to be aluminum are either an aluminum alloy or a stainless steel with higher iron content. All are attracted (at least weakly) to a magnet.

    submitted byFixer48 - 1 year ago
  • A: They already answered that read up only two of them are stainless steel the others are aluminum

  • A: You are hearing the electronic cooling fan. As long as the display is on you will hear it

submitted byGourmia - 6 years ago

Extremely inconsistent and frustrating to use

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I genuinely regret buying this. I take big/ish purchases seriously, so spending around $100 on this air fryer has been one of my biggest purchase regrets recently. The biggest issue is how incredibly inconsistent it is. Nothing cooks according to the package directions. Most of the time I have to add an extra 5–10 minutes just to get food fully cooked, but then other times using the exact same settings results in burnt food. There is absolutely no consistency, so I never know if dinner is going to come out undercooked or overcooked. I end up checking on everything constantly because I can’t trust it. To make matters worse, the removable crumb tray completely rusted after only TWO washes. A part that’s designed to be taken out and cleaned should not be rusting almost immediately. That’s insane, especially for a product in this price range. Because the air fryer function has been so unreliable, I haven’t even bothered trying the other cooking modes. At this point, I don’t trust this appliance enough to risk ruining more food. Every time I pull this thing out, I’m reminded how disappointed I am that I spent my money on it. If you’re looking for a rust free air fryer that cooks consistently and lets you trust cooking times, I’d skip this one. I wish I’d spent a little more money on better quality model instead.

Gourmia Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer GTF 7900

4 stars because the 19.75" wide measurement listed is wrong. This unit is only 17" wide which means a 9" x 13" baking pan does not fit because the inside measurement is 12" inches wide. How hard is it to list the inside dimentions or the size of the rack & trays so people know before they buy? I probably would have liked it but my baking & casserole pans don't fit.

Failed after a year from faulty knob

Nice setup, cooks toast better than other ovens I tried, but it failed after a year or so from the knob not engaging settings. Others have noticed this problem. It's also easy to burn your hand with the small handle on top of the glass. I solved both problems by getting a Ninja toaster oven/air fryer with a large handle on the side, and operated just by buttons, and the Ninja also lifts vertically when not in use to give much more counter space.

Fire Hazard :( will turn on by itself

We’ve used this product for a year now and we loved it. But one night it decided to just turn on by itself. Good thing my husband was still awake. Scared the heck out of us but saw another review saying they had the same experience. It’s fire hazard so we had to toss it out.

The oven is perfect, it's efficient in every way, you just have to take care of it so it lasts a long time. The material is much better than the 30-liter Cosori I had, which was absolute rubbish. For greater durability in this Gourmia oven, I'm going to install a piece of aluminum foil to partially cover the glass panel, since a good portion of the heat escapes from there. After cooking, I'll leave the door partially open so it cools down quickly and the digital controls don't get damaged. I'll cover the heating elements with the tray for maximum efficiency and clean it every time food gets on it. I'll also use it under the exhaust fan at full power. With these measures, I'm sure it will last me many years. Compared to the old Cosori I had, the Gourmia easily deserves a 10/5.

Was okay while it lasted. Mehh

This unit works fine for a little while, but the nob eventually will only reduce time from the preset, can't increase any more. For example, if I need to toast bread and want it darker, I have to toast it twice because I can't just turn up the settings. I'm seeing other reviews with this same issue. The elements on the bottom aren't covered and not removable, so drips during cooking can smoke and ember sometimes, and can be difficult to clean afterwards.

Appreciate it is also an air fryer

I avoid new gadgets and appliances because they take up so much space. Purchased this one to use during our kitchen renovation. Rated well by Consumer Reports. Selling points: also an air fryer; my square porcelain bakers fit. Wish it had an interior light, hence 4 stars.

    A bargain!

I wanted an air fryer and to replace my Cuisinart toaster oven. It's doing very well in both categories. I have found it easy to clean and intuitive to use. I've read the one star reviews and have not found any of them be valid in my experience. I would comment that the presets are largely a gimmick. Every bread product, each item for frying, and each degree of reheating desired, has required fine tuning, which is very easy to do and certainly not the fault of the manufacturer. Ultimately, the product will be judged on it, durability and longevity, but it is so reasonably priced that should it not last past the warranty I would go out and replace it.
