Q: What is insta ink and thermal printing

A: Thank you for your question. Instant Ink is a subscription service offered by HP that automatically delivers ink refills whenever your printer runs low. Thermal Printing is a digital printing process that produces a printed image by passing paper with a thermochromic coating, commonly known as thermal paper, over a print head consisting of tiny electrically heated elements.

When your ink starts to run low, your printer will automatically order the new ink and everything is covered by the monthly charge when the trial period is finished. "Thermal inkjet" refers to the printheads heating up and forcing the ink through the nozzles onto the paper for your printing.

A: Hi Maria, thanks for your question! The HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e does scan in color. To scan both sides of a page, you will need to manually flip the page over, to scan both sides.

A: Thank you for your question on the new OfficeJet Pro 8135e. This only has Bluetooth LE for the printer setup but not for printing. You can print wirelessly with this using Wi-fi direct mode, which does not require internet access at all.

A printer should not have this many issues. Like others, after having a power surge, I received error messages about incorrect PIN (typed exactly what was inside of printer), to use Set Up cartridges (already in printer, re-inserted them several times), that installation wasn’t complete (used twice already with no problems), and now screen will not advance - been spooling since yesterday that it’s “preparing.” Preparing what? Unplugged it, removed printer from laptop and re-installed, removed printer from HP Smart app and tried to re-add. Nothing! Contacted HP support, who was of no help and their last resort was to remote into my personal laptop to see my HP Smart app on my screen. Did not approve that process and ended chat. If you can’t walk me through a solution or re-set something on your end, then your product isn’t very good. Can’t even make a single copy. Screen is frozen/stuck. I’m out of hundreds of dollars for an unusable printer and a box of back up cartridges that I’ll never use. And according to my Target online order, I can’t return either to the store for a refund, although it’s been less than 90 days. First and last HP product. Going back to Epson.

Keeps telling me the Yink cartridge is not communicating and if keeps insisting that to change the cartridge. I but a new one , insert and it tells me to insert the Y cartridge that came with the printer that doesn’t communicate

I hate this printer. Connection issues since day one. You have to work through their smart hp app to make it usable. Had to actually look up how to print photos. This coming from a lifelong HP user. They are not making life easier. I would never have purchased this product knowing what I know now. Very slow to connect and very slow to print.

PROs 1) I like the smaller size. 2) The printed product is very good. 3) Clearing a paper jam was easy. CONs 1) The quality of the printer is much diminished from my previous HP printer. 2) I had difficulty printing one-sided to two-sided collated documents. (The same content was printed on the front and the back of the sheet. I will need to call Technical Support. I wasted a lot of printed pages and paper, plus an excessive amount of time was used resulting in frustration.) 3) The tiny display screen is difficult for aging eyes to read. 4) I am disappointed that the glass bed does not accommodate legal-size originals.

The control panel is far too small. It is extremely difficult to use the keyboard on it, because of the small size. It does not allow me to scan by using the control panel, as I have an iMAC. I was led to believe, in a phone call to check its compatibility with my iMAC, that I would be able to do that. Now I have to use HP Smart.

So far I am in love with my new HP OficeJet Pro 8135e Wireless. After 5 different HP printers, this is the first one that actually prints wirelessly. I'm thrilled about that but it prints clear and neatly. I love how it prints on both sides of the paper if needed. I have had the paper option for the last two printers and I love it being delivered to me as well as the ink. If I could wish something was better, it would be; giving a clue when each or all ink is needing to be replaced. All in all I love this printer.
