Q: My main living area is on the second floor. There is an open staircase leading downstairs and I was wondering if I need to block the Roomba to keep it from falling down the stairs?

A: Hi Chris, Your i3+ is fully compatible with Google for voice commands! i3+ does not include the Imprint® Smart Mapping - Targeted Area Cleaning feature. You may ask Google to have Roomba begin a cleaning mission. But i3+ is not equipped for targeted areas like other models such as j7 and s9.

Q: I had to stop using my old roomba because it marked up my white trim. Do the newer models stay clear of trim and use the sweep arm (brushes) to pick up the dirt.

A: Hi Lyn, Roomba® i Series has improved performance on dark flooring, as compared to our earlier series robot vacuums. Note: Although the i Series robots can navigate on dark surfaces, there is still a chance the cliff sensor may be triggered.

I have a small home and this machine has never completed a cleaning cycle without getting stuck due to something malfunctioning with the bumper, running out of power before getting back to the base. I loved my first Roomba and used it daily for several years this one has been a huge disappointment.

This is one of THE greatest products I have ever purchased and worth every penny. It does take a few times to map the house; but, once the mapping is done the IRobot Roomba EVO gets the job done! I just set the time and designate the location and Reggie, the name I gave mine, takes care of business. It gets to places I could never reach with my upright, like under the bed and couch. What's really awesome is it stays on a spot until it thinks it is clean; for example, around chair legs. Also, caring for the IRobot is very easy. You think your house is clean until you use an IRobot; then, you know it is really really clean!

My home's floors are hardwood and porcelain tile throughout, with a couple of area rugs. I have 2 dogs that shed terribly, no matter what I did I couldn't stay on top of it. Their hair was all over the house, and all over my furniture. After unsuccessfully trying hand vacuuming and dry mopping several times a day I decided to try the Roomba i3 with self cleaning base. I use the i3 every morning and I couldn't be happier. The self cleaning base is amazing.
Wouldn't change my iRobot in a million years.

I received my I3 about 6 months ago as a birthday gift and it's been one of the best things ever. Our Roomba (lovingly named Atomos) helps by getting under the sofas where our cat likes to sleep to clean up her fur and litter. I love that I can run it in one room while I'm cleaning in another and it's made my life so much better. I do wish it didn't need quite as much maintenance, but that's a small price to pay for how much it's helped me keep my home clean.

When it works, it does a decent enough job. However, almost every job it either gets stuck against a wall or it gets clogged. We make sure everything is picked up beforehand, but it doesn't seem to matter. If I were to do it again, I'd just get a regular vacuum.

I think the i3 may be a good vacuum- but the app is so unreliable that it is hard to say. Have not yet had one cleaning job go as intended. Gets caught in a "loop" trying to go home (circles!) Certainly does not go in a pattern - very random path. Have gotten clogged tube messages when it was not. Travels into other rooms that have not been requested to clean. (Thought that was what doorways were for? Guess not) At this point I feel like I spend just as much time attending to it as I would vacuuming. If we had not chosen this from our health insurance participation reward points, I am not sure I would keep it.

It has trouble find home and when it does it has trouble getting up on the base. It tries so many times it runs out of power and is stuck. It is suppose to vacuum when I leave, but often it does not. There is always error message notifications sent to my phone

Bought for Christmas- really excited to have it. Set up map for main floor- never completed map- always an error. So far the support team has provided us 3 complete replacement units and still not functioning. Told I was to be finally elevated to 2nd level support. Been a few weeks, no call back, no response to emails. Ready to return and get refund.

I have not had time to thoroughly maintain my home for years. I have an adult child with disabilities and all of my time is spent making sure she gets through the day. If I disappear to do any chores outside of her sight, she gets into things, throws papers away, puts items in the cabinets that go in the fridge, etc. I just cannot get the time to do this vacuuming chore. I absolutely love my iRoomba and have been sharing how wonderful it is to have someone else do this chore weekly or daily if needed. The amount of dirt collected the first week was mind boggling - I had to empty the bin myself 11 times in one room! That tells me my other vacuum wasn't doing its job! I cannot recommend this enough - total life changing for me and my family because the vacuuming gets done a heck of a lot more often and I don't have to worry about the time lost doing it!

Works great unless it gets stuck. Getting stuck seems to throw the robot into never ever land. It doesn't recover smoothly. No getting stuck, no problems. Recharging on the docking station seems iffy. Lot's of "ensure IRobot is situated correctly, even though it docked itself. Wifi connectivity appears weak. Lots of can't connect messages.
