They are OK
I purchased two of these about two weeks ago. I’m not unhappy, however, I’m not super excited either about their performance. I wish I would’ve read up on the specifications more because they don’t do as much as I thought they would for the price. It is neat how they can sync up lights with the Ultimate JBL speaker.

Not going with the beat of music
It works really well at home, like it will go with beat of the musics, but when we are at the party(in community hall), it never connected to my partybox.

iPhone 17 connection issue
Won't connect to my iPhone 17 Pro Max (iOS 26). Apps (JBL One and JBL PartyBox) detect the light, but connection fails. My JBL Partybox Encore 2 speaker has no such issues.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please follow these steps in order: Clear the app's cache. Uninstall the app from your device. Forget or unpair the Party Light Beam from your Bluetooth settings. Restart your device twice. (This is crucial to ensure that all app and Bluetooth remnants are removed.) Reset the Party Light Beam. Pair the unit with your device. Download and install the app again. Open the app and grant all necessary permissions (the app requires these to function properly). When the app opens, it should detect your unit and work correctly. If you need further assistance, please contact our customer support team at: https://support.jbl.com/us/en/#contact.

Fantastic
This light is brilliant, it can shine multiple colours and either stay still or move around so perfect for parties. My children loved this along with the jbl partyclub 120 speaker. This is ideal for parties or just fun at home.

Portable party
I had a wedding to DJ for and this in conjuction with the partylight sticks work awesome. I was curious if they would be bright enough and to my surprise, they were. Very professional looking and easy to setup. It makes it extremely easy to throw a party anywhere at the drop of a hat. Do keep in mind though that the party light beam is NOT battery powered like the light sticks.

Bright and fun
The JBL PartyLight Beam is such a fun bit of kit! The colours are super bright and lively, and it really brings the party vibe together when the music’s on. It’s simple to set up, feels well made, and the different light modes keep it from getting boring. The only thing that lets it down a bit is that it’s not wireless or chargeable so you’ve always got to keep it plugged into a plug socket, which can be a bit of a faff if you want to move it around, other than that though, it does exactly what you’d want and makes any get together feel way more fun.

Great at to lighten up a room
I’ve been trying out the partylight for a bit now. The lighting is vivid and colorful, casting dynamic patterns that quickly make the space feel more energetic. When paired with a PartyBox speaker, the sync feature creates a great atmosphere, and even on its own the built-in mic lets the lights follow the music pretty well. The build feels solid and it’s lightweight, but since it doesn’t have a built-in battery you’ll need to keep it plugged in, which limits where you can place it. It’s also not splash-proof, so best to keep it indoors. On the downside: the effects lose some impact in bright rooms, and the mic sync isn’t always perfectly on beat. Still, in darker settings it really adds to the party vibe and works best when paired with other JBL lighting gear.

Great atmosphere
My wife has always loved big gatherings with family and friends, and our kids have inherited that same love for music. The party light beam has turned out to be perfect for our parties - the way the lights dance with the rhythm totally transforms the vibe, turning our back garden or living room into a mini club disco. It really injects energy into garden parties, while making colder months indoors feel fun and exciting. I really like that it appeals to everyone - the kids are really mesmerised by it, and the adults - myself included - enjoy it just as much, which makes the whole experience much more fun. Our family are friends are looking to get the beam which speaks volumes.

full of colours and so beautiful
This thing is very bright and the music detection algorithm works quite well and provides a lot of variety. The APP is also very helpful in setting the look that you want without a lot of hassle. The lights connect to the phone quickly every time. Depending on the size of the room you might want to get two or more. I got one at first but thought it wasn't doing enough in my space. Two cover a lot more area and provide plenty of light. I would also recommend using a fog machine with these for maximum effect. The white light beams are really neat and create some cool patterns wherever they hit, but they really shine with some fog. They are also designed very nicely and don't have the industrial "best kept of sight" most other party lights have. Most party lights look like they belong in the rafters or trussing of a club environment, not out next to your nice furniture. JBL should also make these in white so they fit into more decor options.

Good overall.
Only two faults I found is it needs to connect to the newer speakers after been told it can connect to any of them. Which is not true. Secondly, the motor when it moves is a bit loud but otherwise. It's a good light and my child loves it. My son loves jbl stuff.

Great quality light
I think this is great to add to the party box. The party box alone light isn’t enough so this is a very clear and nice party light. Used this at a house party and it was great. Connected to the app and the party box with no hassle. There are 2 types of lights, circles/spotlights and waves or clear colours. They connect to the party box and display the same colours so they work very well together. Great small size but very strong beam

Easy to use
Have used this light with my party box a few times now, works very well and nicely compact. Very easy to pair to the party box, and only need to pair it once. Would buy again.

Good piece of kit
This is a brilliant addition to your JBL Partybox experience, even on its own its a great addition to any party but it comes into its own when you connect it to the JBL Partybox app, you can control it from here and sync it to your Partybox so that it works in unison with the music and changes colours and pulses in time with the beat.

Limited functionality unimpressive,lacks party NRG
The PartyLight Beam is impressive to experience to those who don't have a familiarity of what else is on the market in terms of disco lighting. At this price point there are plenty of offerings that have motorised moving heads and include laser patterns. This lamp is static besides the projected circles. Similarly priced lighting units also have the ability to respond to sound like this but in addition have DMX compatibility. Some might argue that where this disco lamp markets itself is its compatibility and ability to sync with the PartyBox speaker. However, the speaker is battery powered and the lamp required it to be plugged in to a wall outlet. There isn't even the option to plug it into the speaker and share the battery from that. It does have the option to work using sound detection or the light show be paired with the Partybox speaker. The aforementioned alternative disco lights in the same price point bracket tend to also have the ability to display light shows using sound detection. The lamp has the ability to be synced with the speaker and to be fair they do complement each other quite well. However, the speakers lightshow actually overshadows the lamp because its a lot more impressive. I do like how it colour matches and this certainly adds to the vibe and party atmosphere but I do feel it lacks energy. There are occasions where the speaker and the lamp goes out of sync. The first twenty seconds or so are out of sync and then it catches up. Occasionally but frequent enough to note it steps out of sync briefly before rectifying. An aspect where the lamp excels is the App control. The App is intuitive to navigate and offers unique abilities to adjust the speed and brightness. The brightness control ability is a useful feature when using this in various different room sizes and depending how dark the setting is. The lamp has a really rugged appearance and this gives me confidence that it isn't ridiculously fragile and delicate. Ideal for a party atmosphere. The build quality is without a doubt high. I can tell its a premium product based on the high grade materials and construction. I like how the design matches the Partybox aesthetics.

Bright and loud!
I was super impressed with the party light beam, initially it took me a while to work out the different features and how to use the product. However once I knew what I was doing I was blown away by the quality. It is just like being in your own night club! The lights are bright and loud! It is very reactive and family and friends were really impressed.

Great lights
This are great but not for a house. If you are a dj or you have a event they are perfect everything you need to create the right atmosphere but not for house. And surely not for garden as my neighbours got mad. Lol. I tried them inside as well but very strong for eyes . Good for bigger rooms
