Directions

Q: Will the glycolic acid make your scalp more sensitive to the sun?

  • A: Good question! While this can be the case with some leave-on skin products, this is much less of a concern with a rinse-off shampoo. Glycolic acid is part of our formula to help support pH balance and assist in cleansing your scalp. Because it's part of a holistic formula, it's at a low concentration and likely won't have the same impact on sun sensitivity than a skincare product or glycolic acid serum. That said, we always recommend protecting your scalp from the sun!

    New formula ruined this product

    I've been a customer for 3 years. This product WAS amazing - until they changed the formula. The principal cleansing system in this shampoo changed from: (OLD, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate + Sodium Lauroamphoacetate) to: (NEW, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate + Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine) Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate is a considerably more powerful cleansing surfactant than the old SCI-based system, and it also tends to remove lipids from the hair unless there are other ingredients to counteract that. All that to say - the new ingredients can be VERY drying for someone with a sensitive scalp. I'm really bummed about this unannounced change, and if it's only to achieve "flash-foam," it was the wrong decision product-wise. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the lathering effect of the original formula. I'm now headed to try a (cheaper) shampoo with similar ingredients to Jupiter original... wish me luck!

    Formula change gone wrong

    If I could give this and the conditioner a zero I would. Since they changed the formula it smells like I’m washing my hair with black pepper, it’s very strong. Please change it back to the old formula which smelled amazing and worked!

    Formula change ruined it.

    I've been buying Jupiter for 3-4 years, since before they rebranded packaging or even hit Target shelves. It was great for dandruff but also kept your scalp and hair feeling healthy and hydrated. They have definitely DEFINITELY since changed the formula. Leaving my hair feeling like straw. Unfortunately, they've lost a long time fan.

    This stuff works.

    I absolutely love this stuff. I went in skeptical but desperate for relief. I can confidently say I noticed a difference and relief instantly. Plus the smell is great and leaves my hair feeling much cleaner and lighter. 12/10 recommend to anyone who hasn’t been able to get any amount of relief, to try this line.     Great upgrade

    Game changer of a dandruff shampoo. Had been using the drugstore brands in rotation for years and finally found Jupiter. It works, my hair is healthier than ever, and I don’t have to even think about what I’m wearing anymore bc I’m completely flake free. Been using for about a year.

    Big fan of Jupiter products

    I have been using this shampoo weekly and then the moisturizing shampoo every other day when I don’t use this one. I have noticed a huge improvement in dandruff, shine and just overall hair health! It has given my postpartum hair a little extra oomph and it smells amazing
