Q: I have run the complete descaling process and done everything that it said and I cannot get the descale light to shut off. I even did all the how to fix it Online suggestions and nothing works. The light is still on, please advise?

To activate Descale Mode, begin with the brewer plugged in and powered off, then press and hold the 8oz and 12oz buttons together for 3 seconds. When flashing, press the 12oz button to start the descaling process. Once the descale process is complete, the DESCALE notification should turn off automatically. If you followed the correct process for the K-Express and are still experiencing this, please call our Consumer Care team at 866-901-2739, we will be more than happy to help.

Q: Can you reset and skip the descaling if you believe your water to be extremly pure?

  • A: Thanks for your question! Descaling regularly will help to keep your Keurig coffee maker performing at its best. Depending on the mineral content of your water, calcium deposits or scale may build up in your brewer. Scale is non-toxic but if left unattended can hinder brewer performance. Regularly descaling your brewer every 3-6 months helps maintain the heating element, and other internal parts that come in contact with water. We hope this helps!

    Caution: Electrical Malfunction

    I purchased mine a year and a half ago to replace a Keurig that was ~10 years old. I liked the form factor of this machine - esp next to my Nespresso to make a nice little coffee station. However, today the machine malfunctioned - assuming it's the heating element as no water was dispensed - and started smoking from some internal component that wasn't visible to me. I unplugged and tried to throw a bunch of water on it but it continued to smoke for several minutes. Seems like the construction might be faulty and now I'm nervous about purchasing another Keurig device. I had never had issues with Keurig before this machine :(

    Warranty Replacement

    I bought a Keurig. Used it 2-3 x and put it away. Nex time I tried to use it, it would turn on but it would not brew. I called Keurig support and they replaced it :) Thank you Keurig support!!

    Broken

    we have used this maybe 20 times and it no longer works I used all the cleaning ways that I bought and still does not work. I actually got sprayed with hot coffee grinds trying to figure out why

    Piece of crap

    We have had a couple of weeks at the most and it is already broken. It won't lift up high enough to put in a pod without wrangling it like a bull and when I try to fool with it to close it won't close anymore.

    Warranty fulfilled

    After using our K-express for just two months, it suddenly quit working. I contacted Keurig for warranty coverage. Within minutes my replacement was on its way to me. Completely hassle free!

    Replacement

    We tried to troubleshoot and it didn't work. The only issue was the fact that I didn't have a receipt from November 2024, but I had registered it so they accepted that. I got the replacement pretty promptly.

    K-Express

    I really like the Keurig K-Express. Very convenient, simple, compact and doesn't seem cheap. But it's not as durable. I've had to get a couple of replacements. It just stops working. With some research, I've discovered that it is probably the internal thermostat. It has a breaker that trips when the temperature limit is hit. I've found that it doesn't like being run a lot with no pod installed (for just hot water, don't so it) to provide some back pressure. Once I hit the brew button by accident without having the tank installed. If they added a button outside to reset the breaker, it would save a ton of replacements for them. Keurig has been awesome in honoring the 1 Year Warranty. I don't like accepting a new one, as is rather have them walk me through taking it apart to reset it. Would save them money, yes time getting a new one, etc. I use it 3-4 times per day and believe this one will be ok. I like this little one and don't want a different model.

    The process for replacing my Keurig coffee maker under warranty could not have been smoother. Communication with Keurig was efficient and timely. Receipt of the replacement coffee maker was very easy and quick. Keurig definitely stood behind its product with a staightforward, efficient and timely replacement program.

    Not happy

    Had issues after 1 year of my descaling light not turning off. Called for help in descaling, feel they try to help me solve this problem. They were more o in selling me a new unit, which I did buy. But after trying to descale again it started working. So now I have 2 coffee makers..
