Great function but poor construction
Works great but defect is the aluminum construction. Wife ran it through dishwasher and it's now all corroded. Terrible that food service item cannot be aggressively cleaned.

Love this purchase - way did i wait so long
Very well built, ease of use and cleaning. Was waiting for years to get one and wish I would have sooner. After putting in the meat in the hoper all you have to do is push it into the tube from the hoper on top and it was pretty much self feeding

Excellent quality, well manufactured
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were visiting our daughter and I used hers to mince up 3 kg of brisket I was so impressed with the quality and ease of use I bought one the next day. I’m a retired butcher and have seen a few home grinders on the market but they are not in the same league as the Kitchenaid . The parts are very well made and it works so good. We have the mini mixer and it’s such a pleasure to use.

Great accessory for kitchenaid mixer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needing to justify the purchase of my dream mixer, I bought the meat grinder just to give it a try, and was the best decision ever. I have even used it to grind fresh chillies for bottled sauce, so it's been a great investment. No more supermarket mince in our house now.

Engineered for failure
The mixer locks itself up as soon as you screw it together. If you leave it loose to turn when empty, it jams in use. The axle is too long for the body, causing significant jamming pressure that prevents use. How can this pass engineering, not to mention QA? Axle is nearly 1/16th inch longer than the space for it in the grinder body. this makes cutting blades protrude and lock up.

Grinds well but metal coating comes off all over food and hands. Can't use anymore.

Quality tool!

I bought the metal meat grinder about a month ago from Kitchen Aid, I to use with my big stand mixer and have used it several times to grind raw chicken breasts and raw pork tenderloin, using the medium disk. I am so pleased with it and will never buy pre-packaged ground chicken or pork again! The difference in flavour is amazing! So, add that wonderful tool to my big mixer that already works hard for me, mixing my bread dough, enough for 4 loaves of bread or 30-40 rolls, and I am one happy lady! Forgot to mention that I love the box it came in as it’s great for storing!

Grinds Meats - Ruins Mixer
I got this in this weekend and was very excited to use it. I grounded up about 5 pounds of meat. I followed the directions and watched some reviews. It worked well. When I was done, I removed the attachment and was greeted with meat impacted into attachment point. I cleaned it out. Two days later. My kitchen smelled horrible. I tracked it down to the mixer. I removed the top cover and there was blood in the frame. I had to remove the entire gear assembly. Meat was lodged everywhere. It's rusted now too.
