Just recently tore the door off the microwave. The front face fulled away from the microwave and ended up breaking the plastic underbody. Screws and bits everywhere. Still works... yay.

Failed Flickering Screen

Like so many others left bad reviews, the Flickering display board! This is the third time!! The first time the replaced the whole unit because board was not available. Second time the replaced the board which failed again few months later. The unit is out of the one year warranty!! It is clearly a manufactured defect of the microwave with constant complaints from most customers. Would not recommend it. LG MUST ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM AND REPLACE ALL FIALED BOARDS REGARDLESS IF STILL IN WARRANTY OR NOT.

The flickering came on gradually and by the time it became annoying the warranty period was up. Also, the amount of pressure needed when pressing the buttons is noticeably more than expected, based on experience with previous microwaves. You have to press hard to make sure the oven senses the press.

The LG LMV1831SS microwave I have was manufactured in 12/2021 and is 2 years and 10 months old as of this review. At less 1 year old the display began to flicker. This has gradually grown worse and is now at the point where all digits flicker rapidly. The microwave will still function, but it is unsightly and clumsy to use for timer functions, etc. After looking at this microwave, a repairman stated that he could not get parts for this unit; for that bit of information, I was out 200 dollars. The only way that I believe LG can make this situation right is to replace it with an equivalent unit free of charge to me (including installation labor). Right now, I would never recommend an LG brand of appliance to anyone. I would have left a 0-star review, but that option was not available. I doubt that anyone from LG will reply, but this review includes my email.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After about 1.2 years the clock on my microwave started flickering. It’s getting progressively worse the numbers are less visible. My stove has the same issue. They need to improve the digital clock display. I would not recommend an LG appliances.

I bought this microwave 2 years ago. The time suddenly started to flicker. There’s no way to turn the clock off. So now I have 3 of the numbers constantly flickering. I can never tell the cooking time either.

Heat from the stove ruins the connection which makes the long piece come off. After paying for a replacement part because the warranty had just ended, the replacement part also broke off. I’m using makeshift parts from local hardware store to keep it together.

The microwave functions good. The issue with this product is the piece directly above the door connects to the microwave using cheaply made plastic connectors that are screwed in. Those pieces break due to heat and because they are plastic. I replaced the piece as it was just one year originally buying the microwave and the warranty didn’t apply. The replacement piece also broke within a month. I would not purchase this particular microwave, this is your warning.

I would give this unit a zero if I could. It is cheaply constructed and didn't last a year. Unfortunately for me due to renovation it was two months old prior to install so out of warranty.. NEVER AGAIN.

We are trying another one and it seems like this is an updated version of our last one. It is an under the cabinet model and the inside seems lower then the other one which makes it easier to reach inside. Also the ending tone is much quieter and the lights seem brighter. We’ve only had it for 2 days so haven’t used many features but these stood out. Great Job LG!

I choose this microwave for the name. I thought spending a bit more and getting a name brand I’ve heard of would be a good idea. I thought it would last me a while. Where are the days of microwaves lasting 5 or 10 years!? I called LG and no one was of any help?
