Q: I’ve never died my hair before because I’m worried that I’ll miss my original hair color and never get it back to normal so I was looking into this because it washes out. After it washes out completely does it alter the original hair color any?

A: It’s never gonna wash out completely. They say they do but it’s not true. There will always still be at least some remaining color. That being said, go slow and get one kinda close to your natural color if you’re worried :) this one is a little darker than the box shows which is often the case so keep that in mind. Colors with red in them are the hardest to remove from your hair and hardest to cover so if you see one with a little red…just know it’s a little more difficult. (This one doesn’t have red) One more thing, it’s a lot easier to go darker than it is to go lighter so try not to go too dark unless you’re SURE you want that color for a while. <3

I bought the 6.5g colour and it's perfect! I have lots of white hair and I've been searching for a products to blend the white pieces into my natural/original colour. I don't want to deal with salon visits and root coverage every couple of weeks. This is exactly a match for my hair and I look more like myself again. I'm in my 30's, so I'm not ready for a head of white hair just yet. My natural colour is a light auburn with some golden hues. Thanks Clairol! Please don't stop making this product!

This product is good for what it is. It will remain to be seen if I purchase again. I used it and I was complemented on my hair but ultimately it isn’t as rich as I was hoping. I needed in a hurry and it’s accessible so that is how I ended up using it in place of my normal, slightly more professional routine.

i love this dye so much! why? it’s not permanent, it smells awesome, doesn’t damage my hair, smells amazing, super easy to use and affordable. i have used this several times and love love it. it does leave more red in my hair than expected but my hair always leans red so maybe it’s my hair and not the dye. highly recommend!

This is black!! Not even dark brown or warm brown. Sounds like this is the problem with other colors in this line not just this one. Don’t buy it! I also lost a lot of hair for a demi so not worth it!!

I used the 5 and I had natural salt and pepper hair. My white hair absorbed all of the red in the brown and ended up looking very unnatural and bright and coppery. Just fyi if you have white hair.

for demi permanent, your hair should be very clean (unlike with permanent hair dye, where your hair can be a little dirty, because the permanent is strong enough to cut through) also, for those who say that it doesn't cover grey or white, it does. it is just more like a translucent coverage vs the opaque coverage of permanent. I think that the translucent coverage is much more natural and youthful looking. I have heard several hair professionals say this as well. I always leave this in 30 minutes and it is perfect. I wouldn't go longer than 30 because then it might come out too dark. I hope that this helps you!

If you have a brassy blonde hair color, layering this on top will provide a Medium Reddish Brown hair color. If it’s your first time coloring your hair OR you want the most convenient option, this Clairol hair color is very easy. It is only two steps. I highly recommend it.

I saw someone else say this as well (of course after I did the colour) but my hair ended up much darker than what I started with which I really didn’t want so I’m pretty upset about that. I had a couple different shades in my hair before (blame the summer sun) but most of my hair was an orangey/ginger and it turned all of that hair into a medium brown which was devastating. Highly recommend getting a lighter colour or not buying from this line at all

I absolutely loved this hair dye it was everything it promised and then some. It took my hair from full salt and pepper snowy white to complete coverage. it’s a lovely shade of 4 dark nutmeg brown. My hair feels soft and it’s easy to comb I have 4c hair it’s very coarse the conditioner is soo bomb it literally made my hair easy to comb and manageable. I immediately bought two more boxes for future touch ups. Run buy this dye it’s safe not harsh more importantly it covers gray completely. Make no mistake I love my gray hair but I wanted to dye it because I’m wearing dark braids and this dye washed off in time. I was so impressed I showed my daughter on FaceTime she was amazed at how well my gray was covered I think I shaved 10 years off my age by covering my gray hair. Run buy this product you will thank me I love it so much I would gladly be a spokeswoman for the company.
