Q: Can someone who actually owns one tell me if it emits a plastic or burnt smell? I've own 2 both name brands and they both smelled really strong and one actually stopped working after a week/2 uses
A: May sound odd, but check if you are using cooking spray. I found if you use a soybean based cooking spray it emits an odd smell. Took me a long time to figure it out. Canola oil based spray is ok.
submitted byMary - 11 months agoA: No. No Odor except the smell of the food
submitted byDrea - 11 days agoA: There shouldn't be any plastic or burnt smells from this unit.

Q: Should a heat resistant mat be used under this on counter tops?
A: I always place a wooden cutting board underneath mine when it’s in use…just to make sure the counter doesn’t get any marks.
submitted byNell - 8 months agoA: We confirm that it is not necessary to put anything under this appliance.

Q: I purchased this item because it stated a wide temperature range up to 450°F. However, I cannot set the temperature. How can I use it?
A: Unlike other machines, you have to select which type of cooking you want first (air fry, bake, roast, reheat, or dehydrate). Then you can adjust the temperature, and set the time. Mine only goes up to 400. Hope this helps. If not you may have a defective machine.
submitted byBex - 9 months agoA: The Dualzone lets you adjust the temperature manually using the TEMP ▲/▼ buttons after selecting a cooking function.

Q: Doe’s this have a function to cook rice/beans?
A: This system does not have a rice or bean function. You can use the bake function in order to cook these items.
submitted bySharkNinja Product Expert - 4 years agoBrand expertA: No. Both of these require substantial amounts of water. Buy an instapot or another brand of pressure cooker for rice & beans.

Q: I am wondering how to know which function to use? For example, whether cooking chicken or veggies - Will it always be air fry? When do I use bake, roast?
A: It has a button for each of those..
submitted byMelissa123 - 5 years agoA: The function used will depend on how you would like the ingredients cooked. If you are looking to bake chicken you would use the bake function. If you wish to air fry your chicken you would use the air fry function.

Q: Do I need to preheat my air fryer?
A: Preheating is not required, but it can help achieve crispier results, especially for foods like fries or chicken. If desired, you can run the unit for a few minutes before adding food.

Q: Could you use a silicone mat on the bottom of the food to make sure it won't stick
A: Hi Dee. While we do not officially recommend the use of silicone mats or liners in the DualZone Air Fryer, you can safely use aluminum foil in the baskets. When using foil, ensure it does not block the air vents or restrict airflow, as proper circulation is essential for even cooking. If you choose to use silicone liners, please note that they are not tested or endorsed by Ninja.

Q: Does oil or spray need to be added? Or is that optional and up to one’s likes.
A: For best results with fresh vegetables and potatoes, we recommend using at least 1 tablespoon of oil. Add more oil as desired to achieve the preferred level of crispiness.
