Van der Hagen Scented Luxury Shave Soap - 3.5oz: Paraben-Free, All Hair Types, Face Application, All Skin Types

I've been using this for 10 years because I loved the scent. They changed it recently though, without even noting the change anywhere. The new scent is terrible and way too strong.

My boyfriend loves this shaving soap and it has lasted him nearly a full calendar year shaving probably 2-3x a week. However, I do agree with other reviewers that my original intention in purchasing this was an attempt to buy less plastic, so it would be perfect if they could change the packaging. BUT it has also saved us probably 3-4 cans of shaving cream throughout the year, which I think have aerosol, metal and usually plastic caps - so there’s that. I will definitely continue to buy shave soap, just maybe find one without the plastic container.

The soap came in a plastic container inside the box. It's really wasteful. I was looking for a plastic-free shave soap option and was disappointed to see it came in plastic. I returned it.

I really like this shave bar! I’ve tried several zero waste options but they were all too thick and clogged my razor. This one is a great consistency and I like how it lathers.

Plastic packaging inside the box; totally unnecessary and defeats the purpose of buying a shave bar to reduce plastic.

I had purchased this in an attempt to lower the amount of plastic waste I was using, but this actually comes in a plastic container inside so that was disappointing. I also didn't care for the smell but since I'd ordered it online I wasn't able to figure that out before receiving. I returned this because of the packaging. Hopefully they will eliminate that in the future. While it is less than using a can, its certainly not ideal.

I bought this for my BF since shaving creme cans are so wasteful. We love the smell, and he says he likes the reusable packaging for the bar. overall we are very pleased!

Lasts twice as long as a can of shaving cream without all the additional packaging waste. Light, neutral scent. Easy to travel with (one less liquid in the carry - on bag).

This is by far the most cost effective way to shave! One of these soaps will last me over 6 months. It lathers nicely and has a very slight scent which is not over powering.

Variety of events would be nice. Price is right. Wish target sold a mud and a couple different kinds of brushes.

I was out of shaving soap, now other types would do, in fact I have used bar soap to shave with. Not the best but when you are roughing it, any bar soap would do. I prefer Van der Hagen Scented Luxury Shave Soap, but, my normal supplier has decided not to stock this item anymore! Why? you may ask...who knows the workings of young upward mobile executives trying to make their mark in the corporate world! Searched local stores, then, searched the internet and surprise, Target carried my shaving soap and the price was acceptable! Should have, and will from now on, Shopped Target first! Great shaving soap, really like the lather. Always a very comfortable shave. Target, Please continue to carry Van der Hagen Scented Luxury Shave Soap! Great Product, Fantastic delivery and Extremely reasonably priced by Target! This soap smelled nice, but the lather was lacking. I am used to using Proraso soap and it lathers much better. I probably would not buy this product again.

Was excited to find a shave bar at Target.com. However I was dissapointed to find that the soap bar is packaged inside a plastic case. Their packaging claims that they are using significantly less packaging than other shaving soaps - but I think they could do better. Scent is very strong cologne smell. While I don't it, I believe some people will find it overwhelming. Especially for facial use.

I love this shaving soap because I can put it on warm.
