Hidden gem for baby showers or young children
I buy a copy of this book for every child I know - I have easily purchased 30 copies since I first read it at a school book fair while pregnant and absolutely sobbed by the end. An adult perspective on our wishes for childhood - not a storybook
This is the kind of book (and there are a lot of them out there) that does really well because it's touching and sentimental for adults. Kids could care less, and my kids never pick this book. There is no story to it, just "i wish you more x than y". My five year old will give me a blank stare when it's over, like "what was the point of that?"
