The EcoTools Makeup Brush + Sponge Shampoo is designed to remove dirt, oil, and impurities from your makeup tools with minimum effort and major results. The brush shampoo is made with gentle, plant-based ingredients that cleanse makeup tools properly without all the harsh chemicals. Clean makeup brushes make for improved performance and smoother application. It’s super easy to use too. Just wet your makeup brushes, or makeup sponge, and use a small amount of the cleanser to wash away makeup and other impurities. Rinse them off and lay them flat to dry. This makeup brush shampoo is dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and fragrance-free. It’s also free of parabens, phthalates, and petroleum-based ingredients but still manages to leave brushes clean, soft, and durable. Just like all our EcoTools products, the Makeup Brush + Sponge Shampoo is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Directions of Use
Dampen bristles with lukewarm water. Squeeze a small amount of shampoo onto the brush, and gently rub bristles between your fingers to create a light lather. Rinse thoroughly. Continue until water runs clear. Squeeze excess water, reshape the brush, and lay flat to dry. Do not stand brush upright.
Cleaning, Care, and Maintenance
Use weekly to help prevent buildup from makeup and bacteria. Good for 36 months.

A: Hi! Sorry for the confusion. It's entirely possible for a fragrance-free item to have a scent, even if no fragrance chemicals have been added to it. If the product is made from ingredients that naturally have a pleasing aroma, then the product can have a nice scent while being “fragrance-free” at the same time.

Clean brushes!
I’ve been using the EcoTools makeup brush shampoo and it’s made it SO much easier to clean my brushes and sponges. I just dab a little on the brush (a little goes a long way) and wash it until the water runs clear. It smells nice and is a great value because it lasts for a long time.

Horrible! Does not remove makeup!
I usually use the expensive soaps from sephora but decided to use this cheaper option but it hardly removed any makeup from the brush. Scrubbed for a while but nothing. I ended up using a soap bar that worked so much better.

Better than your shampoos
I’ve been using this to clean both my makeup brushes and beauty sponges, and it works so well. It’s super gentle, has no strong scent, and still manages to get all the makeup and gunk out with just a small amount. For brushes, it leaves them soft and totally clean without drying out the bristles. For sponges, I usually have to work it in a bit more, but it still lifts out foundation and concealer better than most other cleansers I’ve tried. I also love that it’s vegan and eco-friendly—makes me feel good about using it regularly.

Fantastic clean!
I have been using a drop of this in my brush and sponge cleaner to wash my sponges daily and it removes everything. I will often use concealer, foundation, powder and setting sprays all on the same sponge and this removes it all. I can use sponges again and keep my skin looking great!

This makeup brush shampoo is so so neat! A little goes a long ways, which is great and something every product should strive to achieve. I love the fact that it is fragrance free as some can be irritants. It left my brushes feeling fresh- and looking fresh, too! I would definitely recommend this product.

Allergic reaction/breakout
I used this product once and will now be throwing it away. I cleaned all my brushes using it, and while it's possible I didn't rinse them thoroughly enough my skin has broken out in patches of itchy red bumps wherever the brushes touched. Nothing has changed in my routine, and I've used all the products before, this is the only new addition that could have caused it.
