Expensive, but better than most tinned fish
First of all, let me start by saying, that if you prefer your fish not to taste "fishy"--you're not gonna like this. Even fresh mackeral is an oily, strong flavored fish, and canned fish tends to be cat food strong at least in smell. I wouldn't bring this to any workplace for lunch unless you really, really hate your co-workers and you plan on leaving anyway, but you want to make sure to stink up the refrigerator and break room first. Having said that, fresh mackeral is one of my favorite fish to eat. Naturally canned mackeral won't taste anything like fresh, anymore than canned salmon or tuna tastes like the fresh variety. I bought this because I am a big fan of King Oscar's delicious and equally fishy sardines. I don't think--given the price of this product--it's worth getting again unless I can grab it on sale. However, I did like it well enough, and the texture of the fish was definitely firmer and not at all watery like many other canned fishes. It made a nice snack with crackers--some quick, easy to eat protein. And it gets extra points for having a lid that is relatively easy to open. Hate those lids with the pull tabs that always seem to break off!

First time mackerel..
And it tastes great & is rather healthy, only downside to some would be the fishy smell.

Yes to mackerel
Delicious. More rich tasting and softer than tuna, more sustainable, less mercury and more omega-3’s FTW. Will reach for this over tuna now.

Great quality filets
I give mackerel to my kitten and she loves this brand, it’s her favorite brand and it’s very clean. Other stores include the chum and skin but this does not. Love it.

Not fishy smelling
I add this to a salad. Not as fish smelly or tasty as Kippers or sardines. Very high in the omega 3's as well.
