Very uneven toasting.
Very uneven toasting. Only one side gets toasted. The other side just gets dried a bit. Or turn the setting to dark, one side gets lightlt toasted while other side gets burned.

Hazardous - Do Not Leave Plugged In
I came home to find the toaster hot without being activated/sliders were not pulled down. I used it in the morning to make toast but this was over twelve hours later. I could smell something was hot but only discovered by accident. It worries me what could have happened if I hadn't noticed and unplugged it.

Won't buy another Hamilton Beach appliance
Poor quality, already not working properly, adjusting shade knob too loose and has not ever worked as it should, also crumb catcher too narrow on bottom of toaster to remove all crumbs so many crumbs still remain. Not worth the money.

Plus is a very nice design to add a great look to my office space. It is very easy to clean and keep clean. As well as east and fast to use. Sometimes I have to make breakfast fast for on the go and this is just what I needed.

Broke within a few months!
Glad I got a refund, one of the internal wires started burning, not toasting and would send a stream of plastic smoke into the house every time we used it. Started out fine but broke quickly.

Smells awful
Initially this toaster scorched the middle of the bread while leaving the outer part raw, like others have said. However weirdly enough, this stopped happening over time and now the toast comes out great. HOWEVER even after having it for months, it still has that strong “new toaster” plastic smell when it’s toasting, which is pretty unpleasant. I’m still using it anyway because it seems like every single toaster on the planet has bad reviews.
