I liked the size of this toaster but found a problem right away. I had to press down the lever several times before it would stay and start toasting. Plus the numbers to indicate how dark you wanted for toasting were difficult to see. Toasting was just okay. I'm returning it and will order a Cuisinart. Hopefully, it will be better than this one.

I like most that the bread is toasted evenly over the entire piece - not simply "in spots". The small size is nice for storage. My one dislike is the cord. It is not long enough (needs another 12 to 18 inches) and it does not conveniently exit from the bottom of the toaster. Overall, however, we are enjoying this new unit.

Slots are wide for the end slices and do not get stuck and burn. The dial is easy to figure out desired toasty-level. We also taught our daughter how to (safely) use this, so now we can sleep 10 extra minutes on weekends while she gets breakfast ready. I do wish it had a better way to store or wrap the cord- but not a deal breaker. Stores easily when not in use. I forgot the simple pleasure of a regular toaster after using a toaster oven for so many years.

It also works well toasting bagels and hamburger buns. It looks good on the counter with it's shiney chrome and the selector buttons light up blue when pressed. It also cleans up easy with the hatch underneath.

I don't have any extra counter space for appliances I don't us but a toaster is the one small appliance I use almost every day. This toaster looks nice with it wide slots and clean, space saving design. It's easy to wipe off when needed and my favorite part is how much better the clean out for crumbs is designed. Instead of being a messy little drawer that is hard to get at, there is an easy to open door on the bottom that actually allows any small or bigger bread pieces to be completely removed easily. This is a better solution than I have ever had before. When I want to use an appliance I don't want more options than I need and this is perfect with a regular setting, a setting for bagels and one for frozen items. All of the settings work well and the coils evenly distribute the heat for every setting and amount of toasting I have used.

I really enjoy a warm bagel in the morning, but my previous toasters always seemed to tear and squeeze the bagel or piece of Texas Toast into something almost unrecognizable. Thank you, thank you to Hamilton Beach for this small appliance. Someone did their homework before designing this product. I will recommend this product to anyone!

Allows me to toast the bagel or English Muffin without needing to change the darkness setting and then forgetting to lower it when I toast bread! The wide slots are great also, accepting the wider bread products easily. One setting seems to toast all the breads/bagels/muffins without having to change. Very attractive on the countertop and the exterior stays pretty cool. My only issue is the toaster seems to toast a not toast bread evenly at times, one side a little darker. However, bagels and muffins come out great.

The defrost button worked great for frozen waffles. You can push the cancel button anytime to stop the setting you're in and it will pop right up. It toasted everything evenly.

Shorter breads can easily be removed with the control lever. Frozen products can also be defrosted with one of the three buttons. This toaster was ideal for bagels since it has wide slots. A drop-down tray beneath the toaster made for easy cleaning. The only negative to me was what I thought was a rather short plug-in electrical cord.
