Barely worked literally since it came out of the box. Have to push the lever down 5-10 times before it sticks, then barely toasts no matter the level you chose. But don't worry, on the second try, it will burn your muffin, toast or bagel!

Awesome toaster!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed to replace an aging toaster at home. I really liked the one we have at work, so we purchased the same model. I love the features - one of my favorites is the lever that lifts the toast up so that it can be removed safely. So far so good! Loving it!

Compact but multifunctional
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just a simple & compact toaster, perfect for limited counter space like my kitchen.I like the facts that insert is big enough to fit a bagel, and that I can select from the bagel, defrost or reheat options.

Terrible toaster
Guess got a lemon one. Push the handle down several times did not stay down. So pushed a choice on left side which none are “toast” and finally pushed “reheat” and bread stays down and toasts. No lights come on the buttons. So now so irritated to return. Also look at the sale signs. It said on sale for $29 and see on receipt charged $39. Bought this brand because thought would be better quality.

Best Choice
Can a plastic toaster really do the job? Yes, it can! Perfect toast every time. Its glossy black shine adds a touch of class to my small apartment kitchen counter and the light weight makes it easy to stow away when not in use.

Inconsistent toasting
I don't know how this toaster was rated 4 & 5 stars. I bought this at Carmel Target and within 3 months (and not daily usage) it toasted on one side and burned on the other.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the Cuisinart 2-Slice Toaster. Uneven toasting can sometimes occur if the bread is not centered properly in the slot or if crumbs have accumulated inside the toaster, so cleaning the crumb tray regularly and ensuring items are positioned evenly may help improve performance. If the issue persists, we'd like the opportunity to assist further—please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190. Thank you for bringing this to our attention; your feedback helps us continue improving our products and consumer experience.

lever doesn't stay down to toast
I've had this toaster a little over a year and the lever will not stay down when I try to toast my bread. I have to hold the lever down to get it to work. I've tried using all the choices and still doesn't work. i bought one for my daugter and hers seems to be working fine. I just got a bad one.

We're sorry to hear your toaster is no longer operating as expected. If the carriage lever will not stay down, we recommend making sure the unit is plugged directly into a working wall outlet, checking that the crumb tray is properly installed, and clearing any crumbs or debris that may be interfering with the carriage mechanism. While we're glad to hear your daughter's toaster is performing well, we understand how disappointing it is when your unit does not provide the same experience. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8901031744 so we can further troubleshoot and assist. 2 slice toaster
I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" is true. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the toaster being a Cuisinart and their reputation for being of higher quality. That was the main reason that we purchased it. I feel the plastic outside is very cheap and disappointing and its toasting quality isn't that great either.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 2 months ago
We're sorry to hear the toaster did not meet your expectations. While materials and finishes may vary between models based on design, functionality, and manufacturing updates, all products are developed to meet our quality and performance standards, and we regret that this was not reflected in your experience. If you're experiencing inconsistent toasting results, adjusting the shade setting, ensuring the crumb tray is properly installed, and testing with different bread types may help improve performance. Thank you for sharing your feedback—it helps us continue enhancing future models and the overall consumer experience.

We’re sorry to hear about the uneven toasting and understand how frustrating that can be. For more consistent results, we recommend centering the bread in the slot and regularly cleaning the crumb tray, as debris can affect heat distribution. Doesn’t live up to expectations
This is the worst toaster we have bought in 55 years of our marriage. The dial doesn’t seem to make a difference of where it is set. Set at 3-4 most of the time it comes up untoasted and needs pushed down for a second time. Sometimes one side will come up white and the other almost burned. Moving the dial doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in the doneness of the toast. Do not buy this toaster!

Toasts very dark on a low setting
I have only had the toaster for a few weeks and it’s working okay, but I find that you have to use a very low setting, less than a 3, or the toast gets very dark, almost burnt. Between 2 and 3 isn’t enough but 3 gets pretty well done. Not sure what would happen on a higher setting, haven’t wanted to try it. Also haven’t tried the bagel setting for the same reason. I have an older model and it doesn’t have the same issue which why I bought the same toaster for a second home.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it can be to find the right setting for consistent toasting. For more balanced results, we recommend starting at a lower setting, making small adjustments between cycles, and ensuring the crumb tray is cleaned regularly, as debris can affect heat distribution.
