My 2 year old can open it
This gate hasn’t been great for us: 1) First of all, my 25 month old figured out how to open the latch even when the gate is closed properly. At the same time, the latch is complicated enough that grandparents and babysitters don’t know how to close it properly without a lesson. 2) The opening is narrow. I’m slim and there’s no room to spare when I walkthrough. If you’re a bigger person you’ll probably have to go through it sideways. 3) The instructions say you have to drill holes in the wall to install safely. Based on the design, I thought we would be able to install without drilling. On a positive note, the gate does seem somewhat sturdy to me.

Broken after a week and Shipping too long
Took 12 days to receive the item. I have bought this brand in the past and have been satisfied. Not even a week old and the weld at the door that attaches to the frame is broken at the seam. Can no longer use to open or close and is sharp not safe at all! Waiting for a response from the manufacturer

BREAKS!!
The welding broke only a year after buying and installing! So now I have to find another one. In 15 years I’ve never had to replace a baby gate like this before. It’s complete junk!

Poor sellection of gate extensions
This gate is absolutely ridiculous with its size options. You have the gate and 2 choices of extensions, 4” and 12”. That’s a HUGE size difference with nothing in between. The 12” was too big, and the 4” is too small. I was able to make do with the 4” but the adjusters are really too far out leaving a pretty sizable gap between the wall and the gate frame that a baby could definitely stick their head through. Thankfully this is for my almost 2 and a half year old so I’m not worried about that so much, and and keeping the dogs out of the living room. I am really annoyed because I have another regale gate that broke that I bought this to replace, and that one had several different sized extensions to choose from and combine in different ways. This gate fails with the extension choices and doesn’t really fit the size of opening it states. It’s basically the high end of the size range or the lowest, with no in between.

Excellent gate
This gate works very well on my difficult to fit front and back stairs. Both have top measurements wider than the bottom. I used an adapter kit with a v-shaped metal piece to connect one top corner to a round wooden newel post. This product can be made to work almost anywhere. Rubber pads that came with it are protecting my painted wall and wood posts.

Nice gate!
I bought this gate to keep my cats out of the kitchen… it didn’t quite work out! If you’re buying for the same reason, if you don’t have to use the extenders it should work! However, I had to use the extenders and my cat is slender so she can just squeeze through. The gate itself is great though. Easy to put together, instructions made sense, and it’s still a deterrent so we are still using it!

Does not fit all openings
This is advertised to fit openings 29”-49” but it would not fit our 40.5” stairway. Both extensions make it too big, but one extension is not enough. Otherwise the gate is fine.

Not bad for the price but definetely works as intended
Isnt the best baby gate in the world but works as inteded. Have another one (very similar price) from the same manufacturer and this one is slightly better. The spring loaded locking mechanism feels flimsy and its easy to forget to engage it. My son hasn't been able to break it as yet. :D

Wish I could give 0 stars. Gate was very flimsy and poorly made. I had to return it because it didn't even fit my stairway. It might work well for wider or more narrow stairs but it's awful for traditional width stairs.

Nice width and convenient door feature
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The extra wide, easy open safety gate from Regalo Baby has some nice features as well as a few limitations. I like the two additional adaptor pieces that enable you to make the gate extra wide to accommodate a variety of door/wall widths. I also appreciate the easy open gate feature. When assembling the gate, it didn't seem like the gate latch was going to line up properly with the rest of the gate to ensure a locking mechanism. However, once you firmly secure the gate in place, the latch meets the gate appropriately. The major limitation I see with this product is that it is not easily movable from location to location throughout the house. In order for it to securely stay in place, you must screw in 4 "cup" plastic pieces into the wall or door frame to meet the gate and keep it in place. I tried using the gate without the "cup" pieces, but I'm afraid my child could easily push it over. I was not thrilled with the idea of having to permanently alter my home by screwing things into the wall or banister. But, if you have a need for a more permanent gate, this product has some nice features.

It's wide, and tall enough to keep my baby safe. I absolutely love that I can add, or remove panels to make it fit in different areas of my home. The fact it can be opened in the middle was a huge selling point. I'm short, and climbing over gates is very hard. I can easily open, and close it as needed. I highly recommend.

No drills required and easy to open!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This gate was intended for human and furry children use. Set up took some time to get the tension correct but required no tools, which is a plus! The gate portion is easy enough for me to open with one hand while holding a squirming toddler. The bars are also very easy to clean and wipe down from wet, muddy dogs. We will be getting another one for the laundry room!
