Q: What are the sizes of the extensions? I have a 42” opening and bought a regalo that was supposed to fit 29”-49” and the extensions were too big and too small so I had to return.

A: It does come with a 6 inch, an 8 inch and a 12 inch extension. There are certain openings that this gate will and will not work for. We are working on getting Target to update their website. This gate will expand to fit openings between 30.5-58" No Extension: 30.5-31" 6" Extension: 36.5-39" 8" Extension: 38-39" 12" Extension: 42.5-44.5" 6"+8" Extension: 44-45" 6"+12" Extension: 48-51" 8"+12" Extension: 50-53" 6"+8"+12" Extension: 56-58"

A: You can not connect two of these two gates together. For a 97 inch opening, Regalo also does not recommend using a pressure mounted gate due to the lack of safety and security at that length.

We were under the impression that the gate was pressure mounted as stated on the box. However, the cups which the gate was set into needed to be drilled into the wall. When we mounted the first one into the wall, the hole in the cup was too big and fell right off. The cups required washers, which were not provided.

This was the only gate I could find wide enough for my kitchen. It was great until the welding snapped at the top. I've only had it for 6 months. I have a different gate at the top of my stair that I've had well over 6 months and it has held up just fine. To pay $50 for a gate and only get 6 months out of it is ridiculous. I'll definitely be returning it.

The sizing is misleading. There should be information about the size of each extender piece. While my opening was within the widths indicated, the gate did not fit properly and securely in the opening. The smallest extender was approximately 1/2 inch too wide, but without this piece the screws were fully extended compromising the security.

Bought one and it lasted about 8 months, the latch broke. Bought the second one and no matter what we do we cannot get it to stay up. It’s a piece of junk.

This gate is flimsy garbage. My two year old can grab ahold of it and shake it to where it slides on the wall and the door pops open. It might work better in a doorway but it’s so flimsy when using the extending pieces.

My baby fell down the stairs. This is flimsy garbage and does not work. I can't even return it because once it's assembled, you can't take it fully apart and it doesn't fit back in the box. I would give negative stars if I could. (My baby is very bruised but not severely injured, thank God)

Good quality, loved it- but had to return. My house is older (70s), and it won't work for anyone with an exact 3 foot(36inches) hallway even though it should technically work according to the box measurements. It comes out either too big, or too small. There needs to be a more "in between" size. Just want to warn anyone who might have an old house to save your time and get a different one.

Don’t recommend for stairs . It leaves a bar on the bottom and with the narrowness of stairs you are tippy toeing onto or off the step. The latch is also not the best. The gate fell as we were walking down.

The set up for this gate is so simple! It’s easy to add the extensions and there are no pegs to put between the main gate and extensions, it just slides right in. It’s a nice height and has a locking feature at the bottom of the door so you can keep it in place.
