A: Hello, to ensure the longevity and performance of the shredders, we recommend that all cross-cut and micro-cut shredders, regardless of size, be routinely oiled. Hope this helps!

If not oiled, a machine may experience diminished sheet capacity, intrusive noise when shredding and could ultimately stop running. To avoid these problems, we recommend you oil your shredder each time you empty your waste bin.

Overheats
Just purchased this shredder yesterday and it’s constantly overheating. I have to keep unplugging it and letting it cool down multiple times after 2/3 uses. Definitely won’t be purchasing this product again.

Takes forever to shred papers
Overheats after a few minutes of shredding. Paper gets stuck in shredder teeth. Takes 20-30 minutes to cool down and start again. Takes all day to shred a normal stack of papers. Totally useless.

Find something else. This is terrible.
Stopped working 15 minutes after I opened it. I never fed it more than 6 sheets of paper. I fed it nothing it shouldn't be able to shred. Just paper. This is a waste of money. Look for something else.

The item was used but sold as if it was new. There was a few pieces of paper in the shredding mechanism when I opened the box. I assume someone returned the unit to the store and lied about having used it so they put it back on the shelf. It works fine for my needs so I'm keeping it.

Burns Out
Burns out too quickly. I've had 2 now. And after shredding about 2 months worth of mail, it burns out the motor.

Read the Instructions First!
The reviews say that it overheats and that you shouldn’t buy it. However the instructions say to use it for 3 minutes and then give it a break. If you go over 3 minutes, it’ll forcefully go into cool off mode for 40 minutes. I’ve been following the 3 minute rule and so far it’s still working. I like that this shredder does the job. I had a foot long stack of documents to shred and bought this one to get rid of it and for minimal future use. I’d say purchase it if you don’t shred documents everyday but if you need to shred in bulk, buy something a little more expensive.

Stops working when overheated
When it overheats (which doesn't take long) it stops working till it cools down. I have a huge stack of papers to shred and at this rate it will take all day.
