Q: Is the cord the only part that causes the prop65 warning? The earlier answer did not answer this specifically. Yes the cord causes prop 66 warning, but are there more parts that cause this warning as well?

A: Chlorinated Paraffins leaking from the componentry is the likeliest reason for Prop 65 warning.

In the State of California there exists what is referred to "Proposition 65." Proposition 65 is the California Safe Drinking and Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Any company that operates in California, sells its products in California or manufactures products that may be sold or brought into California is subject to Proposition 65. Since our products are sold in California, Proposition 65 applies to us. Excellent tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always thought about buying a hand blender, but there was always something needed more. However, I decided the time has come for me to own one. Kitchenaid has always been my favourite place to go for my kitchen needs, sadly I had to do with cheaper models in the past. Not this time! I am thrilled with my purchase and wish I hadn’t waited so long to buy one. Absolutely wonderful for blending soups, drinks and more.

A++++ Still working like new after 5 years of regular use!
Kitchenaid never lets me down! High quality, durable, reliable, long lasting, & easy to clean. I wash the metal part in the dishwasher each time i use it & it's still very sharp. I've had this immersion blender for about 5 years & it still works like new. I'll never buy cheap appliances again. They have to be replaced every couple years. Spend a few extra bucks to get the better brand, like Kitchenaid, & it'll last for decades.

Guard falls apart and CA price is 5 times US price
Got this a few months ago. Second time useage and the guard fell off and ended up being chopped up into the food. Pieces of plastic were left in the food. I tried to upload images and other details. Web site wouldn't allow it. Canadian replacement price is about 5 times the US replacement price for a piece of plastic. I will 3D print throwaway parts before paying this price. Poor quality and service.

Doesn't work well
Have been using this for a good 6 months and hate it. It's the worst stick blender I've ever used. It doesn't mix or chop anything finely and things ALWAYS get stuck all around the blades. It just randomly stops working. I've used much cheaper brands that work better, don't waste your money.

Powerful handy blender

I initially purchased it to make my apple butter because the transfer of hot apples to the blender was cumbersome, and I always ended up with burns. I am so happy with the performance. I am noting that one must take his/her time in attaching the guard; it really snaps into place.
