Perfect gift for 1st bday
We’ve bought this twice for different 1year old bday girl who couldn’t be more different in personality. Huge hit with both of them! One of them is 2 1/2 now and still plays with several times a week, if not daily. The other one had had it for 2months and she pushes it around all day. It’s a great toy to grow with as it offers multiple avenues for play and pretend.

our almost 12 month old grandson loves this cart but does like to chew on the pieces. He can't choke on them but a tiny bit of paint has come off. Is it safe?

Chocking hazard
My grandchild received the grocery cart shape sifter as a gift for his first birthday. All of the shapes are chocking hazards. (They all easily fit into an empty toilet paper roll.) please change the age limit on this toy.

Not agree appropriate
The shopping cart was purchased for my grandson for his birthday. He can fit the pieces in his mouth and they become lodged. The food pieces are a choking hazard. I would not purchase this for the age melissa and doug have listed

Screws won't go in.
The screws won't go in to hold the handlebar on. There was also a small chip in the decoration that I glued back in place and the glue at the seams is extremely visible. Less important but the cup isn't a real cup, which is fine. The puzzles are adorable and high-quality. I got it at a steep discount for $35, and that is the most I would pay for it.

Not for early walkers
While the quality seems typical of Melissa and Doug toys, I would not recommend this for a new walker or 1 year old. Like others have stated it rolls quickly and the pieces that come with the toy are too small. The shapes are what would make the toy more enjoyable, but they’re too small to allow a child to freely play without fear of choking.

Great product with major flaw
The cart is great quality and my son loves it. The small blue rubber bands that go around the wheels have come off several times in the week it has been in use which is a significant safety hazard both for using the cart and also choking, we have removed them which means we just have to be very careful on the floors. Bummer.

Was not able to assemble with provided screws
I got this as a gift and have not been able to assemble the handle part since the screws are flat and won’t screw in all the way or stay. The assembly directions don’t help remedy this situation. My baby still enjoys playing with the cart but hasn’t been able to use it to push around.

The cart is a bit wobbly! But honestly for a wood toy pretty well polished! I got it for my son at around 9 months and it helped him walk really well. I started with another walking toy then did this one cause it moves a lot faster.

Sturdy but the rubber on wheels aren't great
I love Melissa and Doug products and toys for my daughter! But this cart was a disappointment. The rubber band on the wheel keeps coming off and is very difficult to put back on. I sometimes can't even find where it went. My daughter gets frustrated when the rubber gets stuck and the wheel doesn't move. She likes the cup and puzzles that came with it though.

Choking hazard ! Dangerous
Should not be marketed for 12+ months. The shapes are small enough to fit entirely in your child’s mouth. Extreme choking hazard and dangerous. The cart itself is cute !

My Daughters favorite!
my daughter (1 year old) got this as a Christmas gift from a friend of mine and its the best toy!! its her favorite. She loves to push the cart (and sit in it) and the food pieces fit in her hands so well. she carries them around all over the place. I did add some Velcro dots to the pieces and the 2 boards so they stay in place and that was super helpful!! Its the first toy she goes to in the morning!!0

A great toy BUT not for one year old
I bought this toy for my grandson’s first birthday. It is a great toy , we love everything about it. BUT our one year old put the pieces in his mouth, and almost gagged on me the circular shape. We HIGHLY recommend that Melissa and Doug will change the age appropriate recommendation to a year and a half or two.

Love the cart but the rubber on the wheels always comes off and oh the annoying pieces that are very hard to find after they are lost. It’s too expensive for it to have quality issues like this. And also some parts of the wood can cause splinters

Great walker with longevity
This is our toddler's favorite toy. We got this for him as a 1 year old before he could walk, and he loved it. Now he is almost 2 and runs around and STILL loves it. We like that it can be used for creative play long after our toddler has learned to walk.
