Q: Can this be washed? Weight vests usually smell so bad after a month of being worn during exercise. Many are filled with sand or other material that can't be washed well.

It's not awful
I went with the 12lb thinking it was a good starting weight. But man, does this make my back hurt after wearing it. I am a regular lifter and walker. There is nothing wrong wtih the vest itself. I haven't had any issues with it leaking or tearing. I've adjusted it as much as it will let me but after wearing it for more than 15 minutes, I get pain in the middle of my shoulder blades. I had hoped that it would get better over time but nope. And I'm past the return window. I can't say that I don't recommend it but I can't say that I do either. Try it out, give it your best effort but if your back is achey for days after, return it before the window closes.

Still going strong after regular use 5 years later!

Perfect fit and weight
I've not had this leak sand and I've had it six months and use it 2-3 times a week. I use it from long walks to grocery shooing and even air travel when I know I won't get in a workout. Size is adjustable to my frame-5'6" and larger. it's the perfect amount of weight to not slow you down but give you a workout after a long walk or day of errands.
