    Yummy Strawberry Cake!

    I love Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist Cake mix. My granddaughter enjoys cupcake baking at my house and is a big strawberry fan. The flavor is very natural tasting and I use this in several different recipes other than just the box directions.

    I bought 2 boxes last month and the cake ended up tasting like I added a lot of salt to it. It was my dad’s birthday and I had to throw it out. Not sure if other people have experienced this. Normally I love the cake mix but not this time.

    Horrible Tasting

    We just made the cake and it was literally gross!!!used to be our favorite cake!!! Now the strawberry bits Are missing and the strawberry flavor is not there !!! It’s a horrible texture and completely off flavor!!! Couldn’t be more disappointed!!! Please bring back the old one!! That was delicious!!!!

    The cake was so moist and had very strawberry flav

    This has to be the most moist and delicious strawberry cake mix out there. This price is always good and every time I see the box, I want strawberry cake. I use it all the time and it’s never lets me down.

    Pretty bad actually.

    Not good. These baked terribly -- I made cupcakes; they cooked too fast around the edges with a highly raised center so they were bowler hat shaped in the end. They said to bake for 16-19 minutes so I checked a little before 16 minutes and almost half had edges that were approaching burnt. There is nothing strawberry or even fruit related on the ingredient list, just flavoring and red 40. The flavor is inoffensive but bland and pretty far from delicious.

    No flavor or sweetness!

    I used the Strawberry Supreme to make cupcakes for an office birthday luncheon. I even upgraded the ingredients, such as adding my own freeze dried strawberries, to add extra flavor. The cupcakes were moist and rose well, but had no sweetness or strawberry flavor. Very bland and disappointing. They couldn't be salvaged with frosting, so they will go to the birds. What a waste of money!

    NO STRAWBERRIES!!

    UGH!! No STRAWBERRIES anymore.... where are the freeze dried strawberries? Please change the recipe back to how it was (and this box contains RED 40 now!) - this is not the same cake it used to be. Not good.

    Why change a good thing?

    It’s has been a long time since I bought the strawberry supreme cake mix. It is nothing like it used to be. Flavorless. I’m so disappointed as this was my moms 76th birthday cake. I will not buy it again

    Why did they ruin the recipe?

    What happened? Why in the world would Duncan Hines change a great selling, popular cake flavor? Not only did it mix horribly, but the scent is very off putting. I followed the directions exactly as stated on the box, and not only the scent, but the taste was terrible. It has an oily texture and lacked not only sweetness but any strawberry flavor. Sadly, my life long trust in Duncan Hines is gone and I will be switching brands.

    Cake has no flavor besides being sweet. Unfortunately not my first Duncan Hines box that has had this problem recently. Won't be trying their products again for a while.

    It isn't Supreme any longer! A huge disappointment

    Why do you call it "Supreme "? You removed the flavor and dried strawberries. I remember opening the box and the aroma of strawberries was aromatic. No longer. It's now "pink" cake. So disappointing.

    Used to be a great mix - not anymore. STAY AWAY!

    I have been buying this specific mix (strawberry supreme) for years as it was my son's favorite birthday cake, and it didn't have artificial dyes in it (at least they didn't used to be listed in the ingredients if it did). When I picked up one this month I was very disappointed to see it now has the dreaded Red Lake 40 dye in it. I bought it anyway and after baking the cake per the directions (except I substitute melted butter for some of the oil), I ended up throwing it away. The taste was very bland, the strawberry flavor was hardly noticeable, and there was a slight off-flavor that reminded me of bananas. It was very strange. i will not buy this product again and will switch to just making my own from scratch recipe as there aren't any other brands that are dye-free for this flavor of cake.
