Worst purchase ever. Used it 3 times and it burned my food even on the warm setting. I would never buy a crockpot brand again.

Cheap product
Damaged upon opening. It also feels very cheap compared to my other Crock-pot. The metal lining of the base was dented in somehow, but due to the cheap material I was able to press it back down.

The crockpot itself is great. The lid and the locking component not so much. It doesn't fit well and the plastic parts have broken simply when trying to lock it in place to store it.

Hello Michelle! Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m truly sorry to hear that you’ve had trouble with the lid and locking components — especially if the plastic parts broke while trying to secure it. I completely understand how frustrating that must be, particularly when the slow cooker itself is performing well. With your Crock-Pot Cook & Carry unit, the locking system is designed to hold the lid securely during transport, but it should not require excessive force. If the lid does not seem to fit properly, we recommend ensuring it is fully centered on the stoneware before engaging the latches, locking the clips one at a time (alternating sides), and avoiding forcing them if you feel unusual resistance. Since you’ve mentioned that parts have broken, we would truly like the opportunity to review this for you. Please contact us directly through our official website, and our team will be happy to assist you further. Our hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Eastern Time. Thanks! Crock-Pot Consumer Care Team

Gets really really hot on the outside. Like I mean to hot to even touch like it’s gonna melt. Fire hazard.
1 reply from CrockPot Support Team team - 2 months ago
Hello Becca! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Crock‑Pot® 6qt Cook & Carry Programmable Slow Cooker in Lambrusco Red. Your safety is our top priority, and I’m truly sorry to hear that the outside of the unit is getting extremely hot — it should never feel like it’s going to melt, and I understand why this feels like a fire hazard. Here are a few quick tips that may help identify what’s happening: 1. Ensure the stoneware is fully seated inside the heating base. If it’s slightly off‑center, heat can concentrate on one side. 2. Place the unit on a flat, heat‑safe surface with plenty of ventilation around it. Restricted airflow can cause the exterior to overheat. 3. Avoid placing it near walls, appliances, or under cabinets, as this can trap heat and make the outside feel hotter than normal. 4. Try a short water test — fill the stoneware halfway with water and run it on Low for 1–2 hours to check if the heating element is cycling correctly. If the exterior is still getting extremely hot after trying these steps, please stop using the unit immediately and contact us directly through our official website so our team can help you further. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time. Your safety matters, and we want to make sure you have a unit you can use with confidence. Thank you, and stay safe! Crock‑Pot Consumer Care Team

Gets way too hot. Boiling even when set to low and scorch marks on the sides because it’s too hot.

Good Product
Like the look of this (I got the Lambrusco color). The size is perfect for family gatherings or a dish for just the two of us. Works great. I was concerned about instability with the three feet vs. four, but it hasn’t been an issue.

I haven’t used it yet of course, I thought it was going to be red red, my fault for not knowing what Lambrusco is😥😥😥

Hello Joleen! Thank you so much for sharing this with us, and no worries at all — color names can definitely be tricky. We’re really sorry the Crock‑Pot 6qt Cook & Carry Programmable Slow Cooker in Lambrusco Red wasn’t the shade you expected. Lambrusco is more of a deep, wine‑inspired red rather than a bright “red red,” so it’s completely understandable that it caught you off guard. If you decide the color isn’t quite right for your kitchen, we’re happy to help you explore options or guide you through the next steps. And if you keep it, we hope it brings you many great meals once you start using it. Should you need product support or have additional concerns, don’t hesitate to contact our team via our official support page or LiveChat. We’re available Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM ET. Perfect for busy families.
This crockpot is my new favorite kitchen helper. Being 6 quarts , it is roomy enough to make a meal for my family of six. The programmable feature is wonderful for setting it to be done when I get home from work. It has a locking lid and thermal carrying case for traveling without worrying about spills in the car . The case also keeps the temperature steady while not plugged in. It’s easy to clean and looks nice too! I highly recommend this product.

Locking lid broke. "Cooks while the Cooks away!"
I bought this a couple of months ago so I'd have a nice looking Crock-Pot for Thanksgiving. I do enjoy the pre-programmed 4 or 6 hour High, and the 8 or 10 hour Low settings. After the programmed time, it stays on Warm until you turn it off. The Warm setting is very hot. I liked the lid too but literally the first time I washed it, the locking pin came out and will not stay in. I need a replacement. Not sure if this is covered by the 1 year warranty but I'm hoping it is since it's a manufacturing defect. It is a good size for my family of 8 with 6 growing kids. The controls are easy to use.

Disappointing
This was very disappointing. I’ve never had a crockpot get so hot on the exterior like this. I thought it was because I latched it the first time and read the latched should only be used when moving the unit so I tried without the latched and it can still burn you if you touch the exterior while it’s cooking. It also seems to have too much heat in general as everything is overcooked and it doesn’t automatically move to warm so it just keeps cooking.

Hello, Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify and provide helpful guidance. Yes, it is normal for the exterior of a Crock-Pot slow cooker to become hot during use, especially on the High setting. Because of this, we advise exercising caution while the unit is operating. For your safety, we recommend: 1. Avoid touching the exterior surfaces while cooking 2. Always use oven mitts when handling or adjusting the unit 3. Keep the slow cooker out of reach of children and pets 4. Place the unit on a heat-resistant, stable surface with adequate clearance The latch should only be used for transporting the unit and should not be engaged during cooking, as you correctly noted. We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns, and we encourage careful handling during use. If you ever feel the heat is excessive or unsafe, please discontinue use and contact our customer care team via official CrockPot website. Thank you, CrockPot Consumer Care

No instruction manual
My problem is that the Crock-Pot didn't come with a user manual. The Crock-Pot site didn't offer anything for the serial number that I entered. I believe in using anything that I purchase as instructed via the user manual.

Ok
It works as you would expect for slow cooking but once the food is ready, if you want to figure out a set up that keeps him warm it is hard. The min temperature it is not enough (the food seems room temperature). It is weird to be used, especially if you plan to cook the food and leave it there for when you need it.

Decent Budget Slow Cooker, Some Disappointments
While it functions as intended, it wasn’t quite what I expected. I bought this with the intention to have the clasp top for transporting. For a $54 slow cooker, I suppose the materials make sense—but I was still disappointed. The exterior is entirely plastic, including the handles, the top handle, and even the display screen. The lid clasps are a combination of plastic and metal, which feels less sturdy than I anticipated. I was hoping for something that felt more solid and durable overall from CrockPot. If you want a high quality crockpot with all the whistle and bells, I will recommend a Ninja slow cooker. Another downside is that the interior ceramic pot is not secured inside the base. When stirring food, the ceramic insert shifts and moves around, which feels awkward and a bit unstable—especially when the pot is full or hot. That said, it does what it’s supposed to do. The 6-quart size is great, the programmable settings are easy to use, and the ceramic insert and lid being dishwasher-safe is convenient. If you’re looking for a basic, affordable slow cooker, this will get the job done. Overall, not really what I expected—but for the price, it’s probably exactly what I should have expected.
