Regalo Extra Wide Baby Gate - 38.5" - White

It says on the box but not on the website so it’s not clear. My doorway is 34 inches. I purchased this and it does not fit. The box says it will fit between 29.5 to 32 inches without the extension or 35 inches with the extension. So it’s too small for the opening without the extension and it’s too big for the opening with the extension and I can’t even get it to fit. How sad. After all that, I now have to return it and look for something else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Now that I'm pregnant with baby #2, I'm grateful that I got to upgrade my wooden, step-over baby gate to this much nicer Regalo Extra Wide Safety Gate with a walk-through door! No more swinging my leg over and nearly tripping on my way to the kitchen. Set-up was very easy and the metal gate feels extremely sturdy. No matter how hard my toddler yanks on the gate, it doesn't budge. I appreciate that it easily opens with one hand, swings both ways, and auto-latches. It's perfect for our space!

The width is adjustable and you can add more extensions for more width (we used one). I especially like the door feature which means I don’t have to step over the gate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros it is very secure when you screw in the supporting caps and it does fit a wide frame. Cons because you do have to put in the caps in order for it to stay truly latched between two walls. It makes it to where you cannot move it around the house easily, which is what I was hoping for! It’s a great gate. If you have one permanent spot, you wanna keep it! It was fairly easy to put together so that’s a plus!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its convenient to have a doorway blocked off to keep the baby safe or have it open easily with the click of a button. This gate makes it so much easier to have a baby gate up and not have to take it down alot or struggle stepping over it. The door opens both ways but has two tabs on the bottom of the door you can switch down to stop the door, incase you dont want it to swing one way, which I really liked as an extra feature. Its simple to put together and has easy to read instructions. However, its not the sturdiest baby gate there is and im having to constantly make sure my baby does grab and pull it since the bolts used to screw against the door frame to hold it open have nothing covering them. Now it comes with an extra attachment for wider door frames and would make it sturdier, but the problem i had is with the attachment it was too wide and without the attachment I have to screw the bolts out most the way to make it fit the door frame. It is nice that it easy to adjust and take down so you can move it somewhere else easier.

The height is perfect since my 1 1/2 year old is way shorter than this. I’m just waiting on the hubby to screw in the ends but once this gate is up I’m going to have such a peace of mind. My daughter tends to run out of her room and I’m always scared she’s going to fall down the stairs, but now I don’t need to worry about that at all! I must say this might be number 1 on my list of safety gates!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The length of this is truly remarkable. I didn’t need the “extra wide” part but it’s good to know I have it just incase I change where it goes. I LOVE the one handed open, it definitely comes in handy when in a hurry. It has stoppers on the bottom of the gate so you can choose which side it opens to. The installation was a breeze, put it together by myself in about 25 minutes. It’s stayed pretty sturdy with my toddler always trying to get around it!

I’m glad Regalo put the notice on the gate that it will close and it’s not a mistake because there were truly moments where I thought it was a mistake! But if you just keep tightening it, the gap will close! It’s easy to open and is well made!

Is the opening is pretty narrow so if you are putting this at steps it seems a bit dangerous to have to go through it sideways onto a step.
