Nice size and a really great design. I really like the additional lock on top of the can to keep the lid shut. It’s built really well and isn’t flimsy at all so I’m sure it’ll last for a long time.

Worked great for 4 months until the lid started randomly falling off the hinge. Very disappointing for “Simple Human” brand. Do not purchase. Not worth the money, at any price.

We got this trash can because of the locking feature, which we needed for our cat who likes to explore in the trash. It worked great until the hinge keeping the lid in place when the pedal was used broke after about 5 months. $50 is a LOT of money for something so poor quality, but hopefully the warranty will replace it. Disappointed :(

I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE TRASH CANS AND I AM BUYING A THIRD ONE.

I really do like the sleek design and was super excited to be able to lock the lid for my cat that likes to dumpster dive. However, I just received it today the lid was already attached but broken as shown in the picture. It affects its ability to use the step open feature. So, for a unit price of $50 it should sturdier or the company needs to ship in better packaging. It literally only came wrapped in a thin plastic bag and small bubble wrap around the lid.

Never in my life would I have thought I’d be writing such a rave review of a trash can. But here goes. My dog is an absolute menace. I love him dearly but he can break into anything like a modern heist mastermind. He can get into the refrigerator, the freezer, open doors, you name it. One of our big struggles was finding a trash can he wouldn’t be able to dumpster dive in. I saw this one and decided to give it a whirl. Let me tell ya, this thing is it. It has been chewed on, clawed at, dragged through the house and knocked down the stairs. It has remained closed and locked and after a year my dog has yet to get into it. So much so that he’s stopped trying. They need to market this thing to pet owners and also make an entire line. I need a bathroom trash can with this much locking power. I’d buy one in every size if they made them. You could chuck this thing down an alley like a football and it would remain closed and locked. If you need a pet (and probably baby proof) trash can, get this immediately.

It’s so nice to finally have a garbage can where a trash bag fits well. It also allows me to fill to capacity. I love simple human products.

Lid kept coming off and then came off for good after 4 months

Great buy, it holds a lot and I like the hands free open feature with the foot pedal. Looks nice, as pictured!

Lid broke after 4 months

Like others, the lid continues to break which is super frustrating.

The lid broke within 3 months and this is the second simplehuman trash can we’ve been through recently. Customer service isn’t great either. No more simplehuman for us, their products are not good quality.

This is the 2nd one I’ve bought. The lid broke with both. Try a different brand!

I’m constantly having to snap the top back on. It’s like it wasn’t made to have a foot handle, anytime I use it the top comes off.
