It does the job!
We quite enjoy this trash can! My I’m coming favorite thing about it is that the lid locks! One of our kiddos likes to push the trash over so being able to lock it has helped us with a lot of cleanup time. My biggest grievance with it is that it has to be pushed up up against the wall otherwise it tips over really easy which is super annoying but other than that, I really like everything about it I would buy it again! I do wish it was a little cheaper. Blows my mind how pricey trash cans are!

This is the THIRD and LAST time that I buy this Simple Human trash can. On all three of the items I purchased, the lid would become loose and eventually NO LONGER stay connected to the body of the trash can. At the $50+ selling price, this hunk of junk is not worth it!

Not durable. Not worth the price.
Lid stopped working properly after a few months… it would not stay in position so you could no longer open it with the foot lever, so spent the last 6 months or more using it without the lid. Nothing fell or broke off, just didn’t hold up at all. Way too much money for less than a year of use. The plastic garbage can we had prior to this one was less money and lasted many years. Extremely disappointed.

I wanted to love it.
I’m truly disappointed in this garbage can. We purchased one in August and we’ve already had to replace it just because it’s incredibly frustrating to use. Within a few weeks of having it we constantly were having to reattach the lid. It got to the point we were reattaching it daily. It was also super difficult to lock the lid to keep our dog out of the garbage. Definitely not worth the money. It was my first purchase of a simple human item and will most likely be my last. The only positive is the garbage bags although pricey are a heck of a lot more durable than the brands we normally purchase.

Bought 3 times. All broke the same way.
Fool me once, shame on, shame on you. Fool me, can’t get fooled again. Well I was fooled 3 times with this trash can. The first was lasted a pretty decent time. The 2nd one lasted less than 2 months and then the same with the third. The lid pops off and foot pedal is no good. Shame on me for spending money on this 3 times. Don’t be like me. Buy another trash can.

Don't waste your money!
We had the previous version of this trash can for 10 years before the lid mechanism broke. We had a good run with it so we bought the exact same trash can. This one broke in 8 weeks. The lid popped off and my spouse is constantly fixing it. You cannot use the foot lever to open the can at all or it pops off. I'm super disappointed that we are already fed up with this can and are back to shopping for a functional trash can :(

I bought this garbage can on October 13th and about a week before Thanksgiving we started having issues with the lid popping off. At first I would just snap it back on, and it would be fine. However, now the lid will not stay on and it’s a huge headache.

This can I junk. I’ve had it for 3 months and the lid keeps popping off. Several times a day I have to pop it back into place. The whole purpose of a can with the foot pedal is to not have to use your hands. Reached out to the manufacturer and they are sending me a new lid which I’m sure will have the same issues. Stay away from this can and save yourself some sanity

Broke after less than a year
The lid comes detached more than half the time we step on the pedal to open it. It’s easy to snap back on but part of the lid is wearing out fast because we keep having to do that. It’s only a matter of time before we can’t get it to stay on. I’ve had it less than a year

Don't buy
The lid pops off all the time. After about 6 months of use it would come off at least once a week. Now only after having it a year, the lid and hinge part has broken. We aren’t rough with it and it sits in a closet most of the time. Disappointing to spend $50 on a trash can that breaks in a year.
