While some appreciate its ease of use and compact design, others report that it struggles to provide reliable temperature readings, often getting stuck at lower temperatures. Guests have found it useful for specific tasks like yogurt making, but caution against relying on it for precise cooking needs. Overall, it may serve well for casual use but has limitations for serious cooking.

when it boils over.....
it boiled over at 160 but my turkey needed to be 165 min. i guess I should not have tried the discounted item. at least i could tell when it should be at 165 fin the time it took to 160 buy it could've been a hazard. luckily other sources say poultry is good at 145. it would have been bad to survey the night vomited and having diarrhea bc of a thermometer or a little better over cooking the turkey to be safe!

Doesn't Work
It’s a thermometer that doesn’t actually work, so there’s nothing else to judge about it. One star.

It works if its used properly
I mean it works if you use it properly. It has to be 3/4 into the piece of meat for it to get a good read.

Great meat thermometer
I was pleasantly surprised to find how easy this thermometer was to read. The lens is a magnifier. It's also fast to register the temp of meat.

Don't waste your money
Inaccurate. Works very slow and won't reach above 100°. Ruined my steaks.

NOT an instant read, NOT accurate
This thermometer takes FOREVER to read the temperature of the food item you're using it for. It slowly ticks up while your food is out of the oven getting cold. It is NOT accurate. I used my old thermometer side by side with this one and the old one showed the temperature at 160 degrees and this one stayed at 140 degrees. If I had relied on the Taylor brand thermometer, my food would have been dry and overcooked. It was a waste of money and headed for the landfill.

very Inaccurate
reads as much as 10 degrees lower when compared to a very accurate thermometer. The error depends on what temperature range you are trying to get a reading. Some temp readings are less than 10 degrees lower but still off enough that I would tend to overcook foods. I don't recommend.

You get what you pay for
This didn't work at all. It wouldn't go above 100, for chicken that was definitely close to done. I ended up overcooking my chicken.
