A: Tide has been tested to be safe on the skin when used as directed. However, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to use our Free & Gentle Detergent.
submitted byTide - 7 months agoBrand expertA: Even if you use the Tide gentle type, be careful choosing what type of fabric softener and dryer sheets you use. Everything should be for sensitive skin. Check for potential allergens lurking in the ingredients list. For example, I am highly allergic to PEG (polyethylene glycol). I have to make sure products I eat or drink, make up, toothpaste, skin cleaners, soaps, over the counter meds ( like some eye drops or Benadryl!) are PEG -free.

A: Check at least three reliable sources for any information that you read. If any information is trying to scare you, ask yourself if the writer has a hidden agenda. As for cancer… every living being - people and animals - are born with cells that can become cancerous. Run a DNA test through Ancestry.com and find out if your genes have a higher likelihood to develop certain types of cancers. You can find more reliable cancer info if you reach out to the Cancer Society, and read medical journals like JAMA ( Journal of American Medical Association). A: Bounce is a great fabric softener. And as a Tide user for over 50 years, I find it still makes a positive difference to use some sort of fabric softener… since Bounce came out, I like Bounce best vs a liquid additive. But it is personal choice.

The main photo on the Target site for an 84 oz. bottle of Tide prominently declares 74 loads in large white letters. But that is not what you get. You get an 84 oz. bottle of Tide yielding 64 loads. So be careful how you evaluate cost per load! Target must have used a photo of a special promo bottle ("10 loads free") as the main picture of the 84 oz. bottle. What I got was an 84 oz bottle, but yield was only 64 loads - that's about 16% less product than what I thought I was purchasing.

As with Charmin TP, we did a household experiment with various brands of laundry detergents. Similarly to the TP, we kept coming back to the expensive one. Lol. In this case, Tide really did seem to clean the best. I enjoy the smell of gain but Tide original manages to truly clean deeper to get rid of odors rather than mask set-in smells with a strong fragrance.

The bottles look the same, but the new scent is just awful. It lingers everywhere, and it took an hour of wearing a shirt washed with it for my whole body to be covered in itchy hives. After a lifetime of Tide, I’ll be switching to a different brand. Shame on you, Tide.
