Smucker's Natural Chunky Peanut Butter - 16oz

I have been eating peanut butter for most of my 75 years. Usually we buy Crazy Richards but for some reason my wife purchased Smucker's this time. My one requirement is that it have only peanuts as an ingredient. I am used to peanut butter separating - in fact that is what I look for. I pour off most of the oil (which I use for cooking) and then mix the rest in a stand mixer. Thay I get a peanut butter that is thick and stays on the bread and doesn't drip. This can't be done with Smucker's. Due to the added salt (and who knows what else) the oil does not separate out sufficiently to give a thick, non-drippy peanut butter. I will never buy again.

I decided to try adding this to my Greek yogurt with chocolate protein powder for a chocolate peanut butter flavor and it did not disappoint! With just one tablespoon it added just the right amount of flavor and as a bonus it added 4 grams of protein without added sugars or extra ingredients. I cant wait for my next treat!

I first purchased Smuckers Natural peanut butter 4 months ago, and was fascinated by the texture and flavor of it. It tastes just like peanuts, no sugar to sweeten it up. Peanuts and salt. "Just a dash of salt..." I have absolutely no complaints about it, and will continue to buy it. There is no substitute.

I typically buy chunky peanut butter because that is my husband's favorite type. We usually buy it in bulk and keep it as a staple in our household. I never knew Smuckers had a peanut butter line, but I usually buy the strawberry jam. On the lid, it mentions oil separation is normal, and recommends to stir before using. I am guessing this s a common occurrence when it comes to natural peanut butter, which I have never used before. On its own or on top of toast, it tastes less sweet compared to the other brands. The consistency is slightly less thin and sticky, and spreads very smoothly. When paired with jelly or apples, the sweetness of the fruit complements well with the flavor of the peanut butter. The combination is more balanced because there is less sugar. I would definitely consider purchasing this again.

It does separate a little so you need to stir before using but that’s expected with it being all natural peanut butter. Once mixed l, it spreads easily and tastes fresh without being overly sweet. Considering this only has peanuts & salt, it tastes so good! We also made a toasted pb & j, and again - so good! Smells just like peanuts. It naturally separates- you can use a spoon or shake it a bit.

Also the chunks in chunky peanut butter were small and added nicely to the texture. I used the peanut butter on waffles and it was delicious.
