Q: Is this grown and made/ground in the USA? Thanks.

submitted by Hud - 2 years ago
  • A: Milwaukee is correct spelling

submitted bySS - 8 months ago
  • A: The package has it spelled Milwaukie. Maybe check next time since the one in Oregon is spelled -ie. Oregon, where the company is located. Not Wisconsin.

submitted bymom - 7 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question! Our flaxseed is grown in both Canada and the United States. The meal is ground on site at our facility in Milwaukie, Oregon. We hope you enjoy the Flaxseed Meal if you try it!

Q: Does this have to be stored in the refrigerator? Is refrigerating for longevity or quality? If it is consumed within 3 to 4 weeks, would the quality be less if not refrigerated?

submitted by amazing - 9 years ago
  • A: At room temperature, whole flaxseed can last for six months past the written expiration date on the package, while ground flaxseed only has a shelf life of about a week past the written expiration date. ... Flaxseed contains delicate omega-3 fatty acids that can go rancid rapidly.

submitted byMoy Young - 8 years ago
  • A: It is highly recommended to purchase ground flaxseeds that are in a vacuum-sealed package or have been refrigerated since once flaxseeds are ground, they are much more prone to oxidation and spoilage.

submitted byMoy Young - 8 years ago
  • A: If it is cold pressed it can last months in a cool dry pantry. I’ve never had the meal or seeds ever go bad in the pantry.

    Perfect

I use this in my oats for breakfast and it’s a great way to get in omega 3. It is not exactly a fine powder, which is fine with me, but some may be put off by the texture. I also use this as a egg substitute in baking mixed with water. Very good!

    Fantastic

When it came to buying whole flaxseeds I was definitely shocked and had a cheap mind thought going on. After purchasing them I noticed I didn't have anything to strain the flour from the seeds. So I gave up on that thought and now I use them in dog treats and desserts of my choice. They make great source of fiber for my kids snack packs. I will continue buying them.
