Q: Is this color easy to come off like if in the future i want to dye it light ? Or would i have to bleach it later on if i want to go back light?

submitted by Janet - 8 years ago
  • A: Hi Janet, this hair dye is permanent, so it won't fade with time. We don't recommend bleaching color-treated hair. Your stylist may be able to offer some guidance as well. Hope this helps!

  • A: Hi Janet! Nutrisse Color Creme #20, Soft Black, is a permanent haircolor and will have to be removed before going to a lighter shade. So, it will not completely wash out, and will remain a soft black!. We hope this information is helpful!

  • A: Hey so if been having jet black, black black and another black all mixed. I decided to go light a while back. DONT BLEACH. I recommend color oops the white/red box. It says bleach free. It would lighten up your hair ALOT. You can do 2 daily every 2 weeks or 1 until you reach desired color.

submitted byChyna - 8 months ago

Q: I previously tried to dye my hair blonde with a different product (I have naturally light brown hair) but it didn't lighten my hair enough. It's been about 2 1/2 months since then. Is this ok to use?

submitted by Johanna B - 8 years ago
  • A: I use it every 4 weeks. So, yes, you are saved for sure

submitted byOksana - 8 years ago
  • A: Hi Johanna, you can safely color again if your hair is in good condition. However, if you have light brown hair, the lightest you could go with a traditional haircolor is a medium blonde. If you wanted to go lighter, you must use something with bleach!

Q: is natural dark brown reddish? chocolate brown?

submitted by Mde - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Mde- Thank you for your question on the Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Permanent Haircolor. The shade #40 is considered a dark natural brown shade there is no added red tones as it is a neutral shade. We hope you will enjoy using!

  • A: Always order the color you want with "ash" in the color name. This takes care of any red that might want to come thru. Since I don't want any red, I order Light Ash Brown or Medium Ash Brown.

submitted byDogSoldier - 1 year ago

Q: is chamomile 100 an ash color

submitted by Sally - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi there Sally! Garnier Nutrisse 100, Extra-Light Natural Blonde (Chamomile), is our lightest natural blonde shade. Its not an ash tone, but the natural version of an extra light blonde, Shade 100 is best for anyone with natural hair between light blonde and light brown. For the same color but with an ‘ash’ tone, use the shade 111 Extra-Light Ash Blonde (White Chocolate).

  • A: Hello! When dying over highlights, the highlights absorb color much easier than the rest of your hair, which makes it difficult to rid your hair of multiple color tones. For the best assistance, our Virtual Beauty Consultants can help make shade recommendations and answer other hair coloring questions. They can be reached by texting “BeautyChat” to 827438 from your phone. Hope this helps!

Q: I'm currently using 600 Deep Light Neutral Brown as I don't want any brassiness. I would like something in a similar shade but golden instead of neutral. What shade would you recommend?

submitted by Dawn - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi there Dawn. For a color similar to the Nutrisse Ultra Coverage 600 Deep Light Neutral Brown that has some gold, use the Nutrisse Ultra Coverage shade 630 – Deep Light Golden Brown. However, if your hair tends to look brassy when dyed, using a color with gold can enhance the tendency to turn brassy.

submitted byGarnier Consumer Care - 4 years ago

  • A: Hi Dawn! Based on the current shade you are using, Medium Golden Brown would be a good option if you would like to add a bit of golden color to your hair. Hope this helps!

Q: I have blonde hair right now will this be a good choice to dye my hair back to my natural color which is brown?

submitted by dog - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi there! Going darker over hair lightened to a blonde can be tricky. If the hair is dark blonde or darker you can easily go to a medium brown with no problem. On hair lighter than a dark blonde there is the very real risk of discoloring the hair to a gray, green, pink or purple. To get a custom blend you can mix at home to get a natural looking darker result on hair lightened to a yellow blonde, call our 800# to speak to one of our haircolor specialists. Our number is 800-442-7643 our hours are from 9 AM to 5:00 PM ET M – F

I was hoping that this would be a great touch up for my grays as I have been needing to get my hair done and just dont have time at the moment. I followed the instructions and really saturated the areas where I have a lot of gray and even with it sitting the full time it didnt cover the gray. Even the bottle is flawed, I again, did what the instructions told me and put both items into the bottle and shook and shook and shook it. Even with shaking the bottle inbetween getting a little out at a time it would get stuck just before the nozzle, I got so frustrated that I ended up taking the top off and putting it in my hands and doing it that way. Overall wouldnt recommend this product

At first I thought this package was a return with the ripped tape/box. Everything inside looked sealed so I used the box. I wish I hadn't, followed all instructions/use this brand often and this color gave my brown hair really bad hot roots. Will not use this again.

I used this shade 7 for many years, and it was wonderful, calm, truly natural blond. Covered grays well also. About a year ago (when they put Drew on the box) it started to come out as a strange reddish blond… the gray coverage diminished and the dye now is very thick. It looks like many other reviewers had the same problem. I will try light ash brown, but if that comes out disturbingly red, I am going to switch brands.

I had used BR3 for literally years! It was a beautiful color and I always got compliments on my hair. People were shocked when I told them that I used a box color from Garnier. Then, all of a sudden, the formula changed and I could never achieve that same quality color. My color used to last for weeks and now, the color was fading after a couple. Horrible decision to change the formula, Garnier. Fast forward to color 66... I was so excited to have possibly found my new color but I was sorely disappointed again. It dyed my hair a deep plum with dark burgundy highlights. This is not the color I wanted... I wanted true red which is why I bought 66. After disappointing results with 2 different colors from Garnier, I'm afraid that I might need to find a replacement for my favorite "go-to" brand. Why oh why did you change the formulas? So many of us loyal customers are not happy.

L'Oréal leaves hair yellow and too dark. John Frieda leaves hair too yellow. I'd say Garnier is the best one so far. It doesn't look completely black, and there's no yellow color. It smells fruity. My hair doesn't feel dry or damaged. I'd purchase it again to touch up the roots.

I bought a pack of foils and ended up giving myself a full head of highlights… which I think came out amazingly! This dye gave my hair a beautiful soft blonde, not too golden, just right. The conditioner that came with it of course is incredible, as it always goes. I wish the conditioner was sold in large bottles!! It gives full grey coverage, the color holds up well, and my hair feels soft and looks healthy afterward. Application is simple, not messy at all, and the smell is actually pretty mild. It’s a great way to refresh your color without a salon visit. I received this product for free from Topbox Marketing for testing and review purposes

I have natural red undertones in my hair, so went with #61 since it appeared to match my natural brown hair color. I haven’t dyed my hair in 20 years so I was quite shocked to see my hair dyed a copperish color! Apparently someone forgot to add the Ash in this ash brown color. Sadly, after I give my hair a resting period, I will have to try using hair dye from another company and hope the copper color is covered up. Also it did not cover up my fly away greys.
