Description

Scotts® Turf Builder® THICK'R LAWN® Sun & Shade has everything you need to help turn your thin lawn into a thicker, greener lawn. The 3-in-1 solution is formulated with grass seed to fill gaps in current lawn, fertilizer to feed, green, and thicken new and existing grass, and soil improvers to encourage stronger root development. These three components work together to help you get up to a 50% thicker lawn with just one application (subject to proper care; results may vary based on current condition of lawn). Scotts® Turf Builder® THICK'R LAWN® Sun & Shade is a great addition to your lawn care program with one application in the spring and one application in the late summer or early fall. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep soil surface moist for the first 2 weeks. We recommend applying Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun & Shade in spring or early fall when air temperatures are consistently between 60-85°F with soil temperatures above 55°F. Please note, air temperatures must be consistently above 60°F in the spring for multiple days for soil temperatures to raise above 55°F.

This product is not recommended for use in the southern United States as the grasses, bluegrass, ryegrass and fine fescues, do not grow well in the environmental conditions found in those areas.

Fast growing grass

Quickly greened up my lawn and started filling in the brown spots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to start by saying that the weather did not work in my favor so far this year. We had a really hard late freeze after I had beautiful growing weather for several weeks prior. The grass seed was just starting to show right when this happened. I reseeded and started over. Its been really hot now and I have had to water 5 times a day to really keep the area moist for prime grass growing I am starting to see the seeds starting to sprout again and start to fill in my after winter bare spots. The fertilizer really does work wonders and results are visible within days. My grass went from winter brown to thicker beautiful green. The grass is really starting to fill in now, had it not been for the really hard late freeze I know the spots I am working on would have been filled in. I would for sure use Scotts Turf Builder Thick’r Lawn Sun & Shade again.

Our grass is finally growing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we bought our house the whole yard was unfortunately weeds. We've had to add lots of dirt and re grow grass all over. Scott's turf builder has helped us quite a bit. We laid hay down to also help. So glad we were able to try this. Our yard is slowly growing grass. Right now it doesnt seem to be stopping all the weeds but a good majority of them. It was easy to lay down and the grass that that is coming in looks full and green!

Good value and really helped my lawn!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used Scotts Turf Builder Thick’R Lawn Sun & Shade on a lawn that had several thin, patchy areas, and overall I was happy with the results. The all-in-one formula made it easy to use since it combines seed, fertilizer, and soil improver, so there was less guesswork than using separate products. The biggest challenge was keeping up with watering. Consistent moisture was definitely needed to get good germination, and areas that received more shade took longer to fill in than the sunnier sections. It wasn’t an instant fix, but after a few weeks I noticed thicker growth and better coverage in the problem spots. Once established, the grass held up well to regular mowing, foot traffic, and changing weather conditions. The lawn looked fuller and healthier throughout the season, and the new growth blended in nicely with the existing grass. The bag provided the expected coverage, and I felt the quantity was reasonable for the price. While it’s not a miracle product for severely damaged lawns, it’s a good value for anyone looking to improve an existing lawn without buying multiple products. I would use it again for routine lawn thickening and maintenance.

Fantastic Lawn Now

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in area with lots of trees therefore my lawn is mostly in the shade. My lawn is sparse. But after using this grass seed my lawn is thriving. It is now much thicker and the bald spots are growing grass. My lawn is looking great. It is easy to use. Just spread and water and your lawn will be looking pretty nice !! The package more than covered my fairly large lawn. The instructions are on the bag so need to guess how to use. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Helped A Little

Time will tell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this a few weeks ago and it was easy to apply. I used a rake to rough up the bald patches and I put down the seed and have been watering it. I do see some growth, but the patch is still quite bald. It’s been raining a lot too so maybe too much rain/water? Overall it’s working, maybe more slowly than expected, but the seed is holding in the ground for now.
