He loves exploding through grassy fields but is allergic to grass and dust mites so his paws get very red and itchy which makes him lick his paws constantly which makes the itchiness worse. After just using this soap for the first time I noticed it helped with the itching. He still have day where his constantly licks his paws, but the redness is going away day by day. If your dog deals with itchy red skin or hot patches this is a good soap to try.

It seems to soothe the hot spots almost immediately, reducing redness and scratching.The shampoo has a pleasant scent and lathers nicely without being too harsh on his skin. It's gentle yet effective and rinses easily. I like that it has lidocaine, hydrocortisone and colloidal oatmeal to help soothe and moisturize his skin, plus, it is paraben, dye and soap free. This shampoo is great for keeping dogs skin calm, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend for any pet who suffers from hot spots or dry itchy skin.

She has ongoing fleas for the entire summer due to the stray cats in our backyard. She’s very itching, always scratching and her skin is usually red and irritated. She even lost a lot of fur from all of her scratching. It was fairly easy to use this shampoo and rinse it out. She is a large dog so all baths are outdoors with a water hose. Best tip is to make sure to get in between the toes, behind the ears and other the neck with the shampoo too. There are still fleas since she goes outside and catch them again but I’m very happy to see that it’s not as much as before and she is no longer having red and itchy skin. This shampoo gave her a lot of relief

She tends to lick and scratch at the same areas, and it has been hard finding something gentle that actually gives her some relief. We started using the Veterinary Formula Hot Spot Shampoo a few weeks ago and it has made a noticeable difference. Bath time is easy. The shampoo lathers well, rinses out quickly, and has a nice light clean scent. I leave it on for about eight to ten minutes as recommended, focusing on the spots where she licks the most. We have been using it two or so times a week and her skin looks calmer and less red. She is definitely licking and scratching less, and her coat feels softer too. I really like that it includes oatmeal and aloe and is free of harsh soaps or dyes. It is gentle enough for her sensitive senior skin. This shampoo has been a great addition to her care routine and I plan to keep using it to help keep her more comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before we started using this shampoo, my Frenchie, Bolt, was constantly scratching, licking, and leaving little red patches on his skin. Summer in Florida always makes his seasonal allergies flare, and bath time used to feel like just a temporary fix. When we tried this shampoo, I noticed right away how easy it was to work into his coat and how quickly it rinsed out — no residue left behind. I use it about once a week during the worst allergy months, leaving it on for the full recommended time before rinsing. Bolt thankfully loves baths, so I use a little soft silicone scalp brush to work in the shampoo while also giving him the good scratches. After a few baths, I started to see Bolt scratching less, looking calmer, and his skin wasn’t as pink and irritated. Pairing it with the spray has made an even bigger difference in keeping him more comfortable between baths. In his photos you can see how less irritated and pink he looks in his elbows from using this product.
