PetSafe Single Cell 1.25" Replacement Filters - 4pk: For Cats And Dogs, Charcoal Material

My cat is using this fountain, which is especially useful because the vet has switched her to dry food. The fountain is also easier to take apart and clean than one I tried years ago with another cat. The replacement parts we ordered (filters) arrived pretty quickly. We don’t need the charcoal filters because we have reverse osmosis for our drinking water, but I’m sure they’re useful in many households. And on top of everything, the fountain is nice to look at. I recommend it.

The filters seem to perform well for the first 4/5 days. Then I start noticing mineral build up around the top edges of the fountain. I really wish these lasted more than two weeks, since they are made of nonrecyclable plastic. Or if the manufacturer could switch out the casing to a recycling friendly plastic that would be great.

Sorry to read of problems others have had with these filters, but, 10 years on, never had anything like that happen. If there's any problem with the fountain and filters, it's with me, the maintainer.

With 2 dogs with short noses, I am thankful for these filters as they keep the water so clean!

These carbon filters are perfect for the cat's Drinkwell fountain. I clean the fountain, run water through the filter, and replace water every few days. Filter lasts 1 month.

Before the apparent change of filter design or size, my dog loved this fountain and I was very pleased with it. However, now the filters will not fit into the filter housing, it will not securely close, and therefore the fountain is not working as it should. I cannot recommend this product any longer unless the company goes back to the original filters.

The fountain feels slimy after 4 or 5 days. Regardless of how often I clean it my kitty rarely drinks from it even directly after its cleaned but prefers running tap water.

These are great for providing fresh water for my 2 cats.

If one runs water through the filter till it runs clear and then puts it in position in the fountain it works perfectly.

My cat, Topaz, loves her ceramic fountain. It's easy to clean and the carbon filters keep it clean and healthy for her.

The filters turn the water fountain and all the inside contents a black film. When I replace the filter I run tap water through it for 2 to 3 minutes, it doesn’t help. It’s done this since I bought it. My cat loves the fountain, not the water.

I purchased my cat fountain more than three years ago. I have never had a problem with the carbon filters until this summer. I weekly clean the fountain, parts, foam filter and rinse and inspect the carbon filter. The quality of these filters changed in the last six months. My new carbon filter is always rinsed on both sides until the water runs clear. Now each week I have had to replace these carbon filters that are supposed to last 2-4 weeks and because it leaks I sometimes have to replace the foam filter to because they turn black. I'm spending in one month almost the same price for filters that I paid for the fountain. Is this what I should expect from now on from the filters? If so it will be time for a different fountain.

I notice many are complaining about the 'new' filters. I am not. The reason is I put a point of cleaning the filter, the pump and the fountain every 2 weeks. I don't continue to add water every couple of days and expect it to run flawlessly without regular maintenance. Just like any other equipment with moving parts that requires regularly scheduled maintainence. I mark it on our kitchen calendar so it reminds me to clean the fountain - completely. Same as cleaning an air filter in your house! My only complaint is that I can't find the replacement filters or foam filter replacements in the stores where I bought the fountain! So, I had to resort to buying them online.

I wanted to order filters just once before committing to an auto reorder on filters for a water fountain purchase for my cat. Could not place the order unless I committed to the reorder program. If the cat doesn't like it, I will forget to cancel and pet safe will continue to ship, which of course is what they want. Either that, or I will have thrown the paper work away and forget where I ordered them from and they will keep shipping and billing. Forget it pet safe. Your fountain is going into the trash tonight and I will buy a different brand!

Gets dirty fairly quickly. I have four cats and it got slimy in a week, and we used purified water for the freshest experience/

Filters don't last. I wash out all parts regularly very well & change water daily. Yes water quickly gets slimy yellow with sediment if I skip a day & just top off the water. That aside, the fountain itself functions very well. Fountain is great quality. My complaint is about the filter system. My Maine Coon cat loves it. I guess that's what matters.

I have tried 3rd party parts and they do not work as well as parts from PetSafe. My fountains run much better with OEM parts.
